With a name like Clip+, I was expecting a more creative and user-friendly form of DRM, something to really make me want to pull the trigger on this lusty gadget.
Like every time you want to listen to it, you have to stick your finger into the slot and let it "clip" off a sliver of fingernail in order to confirm a proper DNA match before the music plays.
If anyone is wondering who buys these things, it's people like me...
I buy them online for around $20 bucks, load them with an hour or two of music and use it when I workout. After 6-10 months of being dropped, splashed, stepped on, and humidified by a heavy sweater, they eventually crumble and corrode away.
Then I just buy a new one without shedding a single tear.
I couldn't really care less about the other jibber-jabber.
@ilikedachacha: But that's "illegal"! Wouldn't you feel a lot better about yourself if you paid $40 for 1,000 songs that someone else picked out for you, that you don't really own, can't use on other devices, and can barely use on the one device? Wouldn't you feel better knowing that roughly $0.14 cents of that $40 went towards the artists! (who then had to pay $0.13 cents back in recording fees, travel fees, music video fees, etc.)
Remember, the RIAA is just trying to do what it can to get by. I don't think they're asking for too much. (of course with one of their head lawyers soon to be at the top of our justice system, they should be able to ask for an awful lot more now)

in my experience, 'illegal' and 'immoral' aren't always the same thing. And i know which one i care about more.
