    Try as you might, you will never match the true slow-mo genius that takes place when Mister Pink is in the shot.

    Also remember: When walking away from an explosion in slow motion, as long as you do not look at the explosion, you can never be harmed.

    @GitEmSteveDave: and if youre feeling doubtful, a dive away from the explosion makes you invincible.

    @danger the pirate ★ finally got rid of the long name: That's only in real time. Slow motion diving doesn't always look cool.

    @danger the pirate ★ finally got rid of the long name: For the doubtful, the standard fallback is to don sunglasses while walking away. This is a fool-proof way to ensure total safety, regardless of distance away from or size of the explosion that warranted it. Beware that drawbacks often come in the form of some mousey, weak-willed person walking beside you afterwards, complaining vehemently about how there could've been another way. Another common side effect is having a police chief/FBI agent immediately outside the blast range screaming about how what you did wasn't by the books.

    You can't film in slo-mo, you can only film in real time. You can present in slo-mo.

    Just sayin'.

    @Dave Bunting:
    Presenting slo-mo footage that doesn't look like you're watching a stack of flip-cards requires a high-speed camera which is specifically designed to film footage that will look slo-mo when run at a normal FPS. Therefore, you _can_ film in slo-mo. Sort of.

    I'm having some trouble understanding how the fuel got under the blender in the first place. The lighter(s) are in the blender, covered with a lid (which doesn't even blow off, as I would have expected, once the fireball reached the level of the lid). Those lids seal pretty well, as does the base assembly. So how does the fuel get to the level of the motor?

    I'm suspicious of something added to make the video more dramatic. Like some fuel gas blown into the base, maybe?

    @PeterSimpson: I agree. I can understand that the blender motor cools by taking air from under the base and funneling it past the motor and out the base. The only way this would not be Bravo Sierra is that butane is more dense than air. So if they blended it with the little cover on the lid off or replaced with a mesh screen, as it blended, the butane would fill the jug, and flow over the sides, and then get sucked into the motor. It would then get a spark from the motor spinning, and might result in what we see.

    This looks more like 100 lighters and a few bottles of lighter fluid.

    I've experienced often enough what happens when a lighter breaks or melts (in a fire). And the "explosion" is much smaller and gone within a fraction of a second.

    @Knirfie:

    yeah but a regular lighter 'explosion' is just the release of the pressurized propane - even if you shoot a lighter, it tends to just release the gas, no ignite.

    I modify my lighters in a way that allows me to put a thick wire loop on them, so they hang with my keys, and every time i'm filing the requisite grooves into the side i always think, i should probably be wearing safety goggles.

    Mostly stuff that's too big to fit in the blender, or made of material that's harder than the blender blades. Like a depleted-uranium-clad tank.
