PC Mag has a guide to hack your Moto SLVR into something that's about half as good.

The steps involve removing the iTunes 100-song limit, installing a microSD card for more storage, adding a new browser, an Apple-ish skin, and swapping off the faceplate. Sure, this is pretty ghetto and will only fool the most luddite of friends, but it's definitely better than a stock SLVR.

<![CDATA[ Enhanced MOTOSLVR L7e Sports EDGE Class 10, Push Technology ]]> motoslvrl7e.jpgSensing that the RAZR craze is dying a slow, painful death, Motorola is starting to pepper the market with all sorts of other horrifically name cellphones such as the just about to be released MOTOSLVR L7e. Slightly different than its vanilla MOTOSLVR brethren, the L7e distinguishes itself with a metallic blue paint job and some speed bumped features. Here you'll find an MP3/AAC player that's compatible with Bluetooth headsets, a 1.3-megapixel camera (yawn) and EDGE Class 10, among others.

Even nicer is the Push technology they've thrown on here: Push-to-share sends your dumb friends your even dumber photos and Push-to-talk keeps one lucky person always within the reach of your sharp talons.

This slightly upgraded SLVR should be in stores sometime before the end of the year. For what wireless carrier, um, we don't know, but considering it's GSM, you can probably rule out Verizon Wireless. Hopefully the cellphone performs better than its silly name would lead you to believe.

<![CDATA[ Sprint Adding Motorola KRZR, RAZR and SLVR to its Lineup ]]> If you're a Sprint customer (or don't mind becoming one) and you've taken a liking to Motorola's latest phones including the KRZR, RAZR and SLVR, Sprint announced it's going to be adding those three cell phones to its lineup come November. Along for the ride will be EV-DO, opening up the doors to NFL Mobile, Sprint TVSM and Sprint Movies.

Finally, Sprint adds these three phones to its lineup. Let's just hope it gets its EV-DO chops together better than Verizon's, whose "wireless broadband" performance is spotty at best.

Just curious: Which cellphone provider do you think is best? Take our reader poll after the jump!

<![CDATA[ Video of Motorola Vending Machine ]]> This lousy video of the Motorola vending machine is blurry because it was taken on a Motorola RAZR. Still, you can see that it looks similar the the Sony one we saw before, and features various RAZRs and SLVRs waiting to drop down into your ham-soaked hands.

This one only had PEBLs and SLVRs since they were out of Q's. We wonder if there's a warning to tell people that the Q's only work on a certain provider?

<![CDATA[ LG KG320 Ultra-Slim Phone ]]> With a thickness of only 9.9mm, compared to the 11.5mm of a Motorola SLVR L7, this LG is thinner than Nicole Richie after a three-day hobo-killing, dog-strangling, Herbie-the-Love-Bug-stealing coke binge.

LG doesn't skimp on the features either, with a 1.3-megapixel camera, 128 megs of flash memory, MP3/MPEG/AAC support and USB connectivity. No doubt this will be available only in Korea, but with any luck you can find a Korean exchange student and bribe him with some fajitas to import one for you.

<![CDATA[ Ten Highest Radiation Cellphones ]]> arnoldslvr.jpgGuess who has eight on this list? If you answered Motorola, give yourself a tumor cookie.

And the cellphone with the highest radiation? The Motorola SLVR L6. You fellas should really get yourselves a bluetooth headset.

<![CDATA[ Motorola Goes Red for AIDS ]]> redslvr1.jpgBono's AIDS charity has begun seeing red all over the UK. Many manufacturers—including Gap, American Express, Armani, Converse and Motorola—are releasing special red products to raise awareness and money to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa.

Motorola's contribution—the red SLVR—has the same specs, but resides in a nice candy red shell. Also 5 percent of each phone purchase is donated, but the good will doesn't end there. A portion of all normal phone-usage charges is also donated to the Global Fund.

<![CDATA[ Cingular Launches Pink SLVR, Moms/Teenage Girls Rejoice ]]> Go ahead and shoot me, but I feel like I'm over Motorola's consonant phones. I liked the RAZR and the SLVR looks cool, but the rush for black, pink, blue, and plaid models baffles me.

That said, rush on over to Cingular and get yourself a $199 pink SLVR L7 for momma. It's got a 512MB microSD card, iTunes support, and a VGA camera. Remember: if momma isn't showing a little pink this year, she's going to be very unhappy.

<![CDATA[ Pink Motorola SLVR ]]> pinkslvr.jpg

If you've always wanted a pink phone to call your very own but for some reason neither the hot pink nor baby pink editions of Motorola's clamshell RAZR V3c did it for you, maybe you'll like the candybar goodness of the pink SLVR L6. It's super thin, has Bluetooth and runs iTunes, but alas, only a VGA camera. Motorola says the SLVR L6 "is perfect for girls who like to be out and about" but c'mon now, everyone knows party girls need at least a megapixel to take really good drunken self-portraits with.

<![CDATA[ Moto V8 SlVr--Sexiness all around ]]> slvrwoman.jpgWhat the hell is the deal with Motorola's naming scheme, these four letter word games are starting to drive me nuts. RAZR, PEBL, ROKR and now the SlVr. The Bengal boy himself has a rodeo of pictures of the new SlVr for us to feast our eyes at. This thing is sexy as hell, it's a damn shame I bought a Moto A630 not too long ago. Check out the full size picture of just the phone after the jump and hit up the link for the rest of the series.

<![CDATA[ Motorola Losing Its EDGE ]]> PEBL.jpgFrom the 'while you were out to lunch' department comes the news from Phonescoop that Motorola has been revising the specs on its most-anticipated handsets. I'm talking about hugely publicized phones such as the PEBL and SLVR, as well as the E895 and A910. What's changed? These phones will no longer launch with high-speed EDGE data services. They will be GPRS only.
A Motorola spokesperson explained that the chipset Motorola choose for their top of the line models does not have a stable EDGE implementation, and does not meet Motorola's quality standards. It is too late for Motorola to swap out chips, so the company has been forced to disable EDGE on the new phones despite their high end placement in their lineup.
