    @Shamoononon, Vampire Grater: This video was made about halfway through all the facial surgery.


    MJ started with his nose around the time he put out Off the Wall, and began work on the chin and cheeks, etc., between Thriller and Moonwalker.


    However, I do agree with you, had he left it alone at that . . .

    I wonder how many dirty secrets of his recent past will come out due to the whole midia attention though...


    But I'll always respect his career for things just like the one on this post.

    Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Bad and several other videoclips where trend starters.


    The music industry has advanced much due to his ideas...


    It's truly sad though what fame did to him, and how everyone just ignored and kept denying that he had problems, and needed help to overcome his issues.


    I always imagine how legendary he'd still be today if he got help before all the weird stuff began...

    By "music industry" I assume you mean the pop churn-o-matic, yes? Because the stuff he released has absolutely nothing to do with what I get to listen to on Little Steven's Underground Garage.


    When I was a wee, impressionable tot, what he did seemed really impressive. Then I hit puberty, and started to develop taste in music. Seriously, there's not a single song that I used to like back then that I ever listened to again by choice after graduating high school.

    He filmed a mini movie that involved the kids and future-looking men with big guns and the clips were added. The white suit was part of the music video.

    First of all, screw you Giz for not noting the time so I had to watch over 7 min to find out what you're talking about. Secondly, it looked so unnatural that is seems patently obvious some trick was used. You made it seem like everyone was wondering "How did those dancers do it!?"


    I believe the tin man in the Wizard of Oz pulled this maneuver a looooooong time ago, irrespective of MJ's soul reprisal of the role in The Wiz.

    @Robusto68: Either you weren't alive in 1988 or you were living deep underground. I was 10 years old, and everybody I knew (including my parents) were talking about that move for weeks after the video came out.

    And Moonwalker was some amazing shit. At 11 years old EVERYONE I knew thought it was magical. THen we proceeded to bust our collective asses trying to replicate it.

    1988? Where I grew up, I think we'd generally all moved on to music by that time. Or some sort of boy band if you were a girl. I mean, wasn't that around the time he released an album and Tower Records in NYC held a midnight opening that only about half a dozen people lined up for?

    @Cordfucious Jackson of Tech Clan: No, the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz performed that same move. Ugh, isn't anyone paying attention before they flame back?


    I was mesmerized by the video. He may not have invented these moves, but he brought cred to that style of dance. Simply amazing. It's just so sad that two stars had to die the same day. Poor Farrah did not get the time I thought she had earned.
