Oi Modular Sofa Makes me Think of Albino Tetris, Shipping Now

The Oi sofa concept was launched in New York last year, but it's taken almost a year and a half to make it available. Made out of L- and bar-shaped components, you can make loads of different-shaped sofas with it, including one with a neat side table add-on. It packs up/down into a 30-inch cube so shipping and storage is easy, and it costs $2,300. Price, plus a gallery of all the permutations are below.

Hello, I'm a laydee. And this is my gentleman caller. We're throwing crazy shapes on this splodge-shaped pouffe, and in a minute, we're going to leave you a reminder that we were here, doing strange things to each other on black vinyl.

I know what you were expecting, you lewd people, you. Well, it's nothing of the sort, merely a mood ring generated by our body heat on the surface of the Swamp couch. Our Mississippi friends Erin Hayne and Nuno Gon alves Ferreira of Visual Reference Studio designed it, and told us that you can order a couch and they'll have it ready and waiting for you just four to six weeks later. Introduced at the Milan Salone Satellite, it's durable enough for indoor and outdoor sitting, due to its Waterlily and Framefoam construction. Don't ask us what those are, because we don't know either.

A German designer, who is well known for his unique musical inventions, has now placed a midi controller into a sofa. You use your buttocks to control the music. Each cushion of the couch contains three output controls for the midi system—leaning left, right, and back all produce their individual notes. A fourth musical note is optional depending on what you had for lunch. Bonus: Check out some of his other cool inventions including a Commodore 64 synthesizer.
