Congrats to this underdog manufacturer "Micro-Soft" for finally hitting the big time!

Of course, as commenters have pointed out, it's possible, if not probable, that Microsoft is using the time-tested tactic of short supply to make sure it sells out everywhere. Until we get some hard numbers, there's no way to tell. In the meantime, here's how it shakes down (notice Microsoft's online store seems to have plenty of units):

Amazon has both the 16GB and 32GB versions backordered, as does Best Buy, while Newegg and Buy.com both have only the 32GB left (and it probably won't last too long). Looks like the place to get it is Microsoft's online store, where both versions are available (and you can get those sweet Zune Originals engravings). Great to see the Zune HD getting the attention it deserves. (Maybe.)

<![CDATA[AT&T's iPhone 3GS Pre-Orders Already Sold Out]]> AT&T is telling customers that any iPhone 3GS pre-orders placed after today, June 13th, will not be available at the June 19th launch, instead shipping out between one and two weeks later.

In addition, those lining up for a 3GS should note that it'll be available at 8:00AM, not 7:00, as had been previously thought. Looks like those crappy ugrade fees haven't deterred too many people from ordering the newer iPhone. If you do want to pre-order, you'll receive an email once the 3GS is back in stock, saving you the trouble of having to wait in line, though of course it is still being sold at Best Buy and Walmart. <![CDATA[iPhone Stocks Being Replenished, Not Sold Out, Say UK Retailers]]> Despite the rumors of iPhones being out of stock in the UK, it's not really true—according to the retailers themselves. Reghardware has spoken to both O2 and Carphone Warehouse, and both say they're just tackling getting more 16GB iPhones for their online departments. Apple themselves have stock and O2 and Carphone Warehouse have iPhones available in their high street stores. Does this info mean they won't be getting any more 8GB versions, though? Well, we can speculate that, but we don't know. It also leaves us wondering what this news does to the iPhone 2.0 rumors. [Reghardware]

<![CDATA[iPod shuffle Sold Out—New shuffle in the Works?]]>

Whoa there. Looks like Apple is doing pretty well this holiday season with the 1GB iPod shuffle completely sold out on their online store. The next date they'll be available? Mid-January. Which is also the time Apple is scheduled to release the Intel iBook and possibly a smaller version of the shuffle. So the timing seems to work out quite nicely, if you ask me. If you were just dying for a 1GB iPod shuffle this holiday season, try shopping around at a retailer such as Target, Best Buy, etc. and you may find one. The 512MB is still available for now, so grab one if you're worried.
