An attractive woman is licking a Playtstation Portable in an erotic manner, so as to arouse the prurient interests of gamers and technology fetishists.

You can do a lot of things with remote play, but that's not the same as having a stand alone ps1 game running on the psp.

I don't even get how some of the PS1 games work! Don't some ps1 games require the use of the 2nd analog stick?
What do they do to overcome that on the PSP?

@LandonGalopagus: I would be happy with just the ability to rip the games to my PS3 and then play them using Remote Play so that more than one PS1 game can be accessed at a time. Shit, I'd even be glad if they simply came up with a way of detecting the game in your PS3 so that if you already have a PS1 game that is available for download you can download it for free rather than paying for a game you already have.

But, honestly - even if that were true they are still losing.

Is that all? I'll take two.

Obviously the future is touch screen, they should drop the UMD and backwards compatibility and start fresh with a totally new portable. The PSP2 will need to be able to do everything the iPhone can do but more games oriented, things like keyboard and UMD only add weight.

a touch screen is nice, but should in no way be the focus of the gameplay, or the system.

A more powerful psp, just cause.
A bigger storage medium for the games, at least dvd standard, dvd9 standard would be AMAZING!
Now that you have those two things, you can throw any ps2 game on the thing.
Dual analog nubs.
Touch screen TOTALLY not necessary.
16 GB solid state hard drive, minimum, with expansion slot for memory cards.
I don't care if it is backwards compatible for psp games.

Whose to say they already don't have some secret new feature planned but just want to know what else to add?

Clearly, Sony lacks that ability and a testament to that is their shotgun approach to their products with their 70+ gadgets.
