Soyo Brings 1080p Prices Down with Budget LCD

Soyo's latest LCD is locking arms with the Vizio's of the world (specifically this model), offering 47-inches of 1080p real estate for $1,900. The TV marks Soyo's first step in the 1080p arena and will include an 8ms response time, 2,400:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and dual HDMI inputs. We wouldn't recommend it as your primary set (you're better offer splurging a bit more if performance matters), but if you're strapped for cash this should save you a few bucks. – Louis Ramirez

Soyo Twins Bring Dual Monitor Action to Your Desk

If those 30-inch LCDs we showed you are too big of a stretch for your budget, Soyo's GoVideo Dual LCD line might be just what you need. But what's extra cool is that the displays can be turned so that both their derrieres face each other (this can come in handy if you want someone to see what you're doing without them breathing down your neck). Soyo FreeStyler HS11 Bluetooth Headphones Are Skype-Friendly (But What Isn't These Days?)

Soyo thinks it can just waltz into the arena of Bluetooth headphones with its FreeStyler HS11 without any sort of (cursory) comparison to the Motorola S805 DJ Headphones I've been using for a couple of days now. They both accomplish similar things: when paired with any compatible Bluetooth cellphone, you're able to hear the sweet sounds directly in the headphones. What's more, the FreeStylers are compatible with Skype, but then again, any pair of Bluetooth headphones properly paired with a PC should be as well.

The FreeStylers are supposed to be able to pause, rewind and fast-forward music being played on a Bluetooth cellphone, something that I couldn't accomplish on the S805. Of course, Soyo bundles a regular 3.5-inch audio cable to connect the headphones to any old audio source.

On a more surface, superficial level, I'd say the Motorola S805 look heaps better; the Soyo FreeStylers are pretty gross looking. They're that same iPod-white that was relevant two years ago, while the S805 are the always in-style black. Deal-breaking? Perhaps not, but vital for all the style-conscious New York City taxi drivers out there who talk loudly into their Bluetooth headsets, making you nervous al the while.

The Soyo FreeStyler is listed at $179, which means that with a little sleuthing, you might be able to find it out there for less. – Nicholas Deleon

We love VoIP. Stick it to the man and all that. But if you've ever used it, you know about the inability to connect to a 911 line in case of an emergency. Looks like we've finally found a solution that everyone can agree on. The SOYO Group Inc. has announced its VoIP Phone Adapter that will instantly allow you to switch between your existing phone line and VoIP. Designed to work easily with most VoIP networks, it should cost about $75 and will work using any broadband connection. The product itself has one LAN Ethernet port, a FXS port and a PSTN pass through port.
