    Is the liquid's surface tension enough to keep it from floating away? Also, for this to work, the liquid couldn't pool, it'd have to be all surface, so it would always feel like you're drinking an almost empty cup of coffee. Wonder if NASA would let them test it. It seems iffy, but it'd be cool if it actually worked.

    Neat, but I don't see how this is supposed to deal with the two major problems with coffee:


    1. It tastes like coffee.
    2. It smells like coffee.

    @Purple Dave: lol. So you're one of them, eh? My 4-year-old, on the other hand, LOOOOOVES the smell of coffee - regular joe from home or mocha from Starbucks...makes no difference to her. She'd probably hate the way it tastes but our little addict-in-training won't get a chance to find out for quite a few years 'cause what're we, stupid? If she gets into flight school though she can drink whatever she wants.

    If only more astronauts would just consider the shame of traveling across the country in a diaper, they wouldn't be as embarrassed to use a simple sippy cup.
