Firstly because it's simple, just snapping in two polycarbonate parts around the sides and rear of the phone, with rubberized grips so it doesn't slip out of your mitts. Secondly, when you've snapped it in two, one half remains snugly on the phone while the other half acts as a stand, perfect for impromptu movie viewing. And that's just neat. It's in a variety of colors for $30. [Product page via Slipperybrick]

<![CDATA[Easy DIY MacBook Mod]]> MacBook owners that are getting bored of the stock look can easily make a few modifications to it to spruce up its appearance. As seen in in the guy's flickr page, he's added a See-Through Speck Shell, a custom rainbow Apple logo, an 802.11n card from a Mac Pro, and black MacBook keys as seen in the Zebra MacBook.

Nothing extraordinary, but it goes to show you can customize your setup with not too much cash. We're probably going to grab one in a few months for our lady friends, so this guide should be useful for us since we don't have the time or the patience to go hardcore and put the guts of it inside, say, a completely different shell.

<![CDATA[Speck TechStyle Puck for iPod Shuffle]]> If it looks like a puck, smells like a puck, acts like a puck and definitely tastes like a puck, then it must be a puck, right? Negative. This puck isn't so much of a the body checking, tooth-knocking, blood spattering type. It is more the kind of conveniently holding the second generation iPod shuffle and earbuds kind of puck. The puck zips for protection and includes the ever-so-trendy carabiner clip for secure fastening to your messenger bag, you hipster-doofus. $20.

<![CDATA[Speck See-Thru Hard MacBook Case]]> There are two commandments required for being a MacBook owner. First, you have to ensure the MacBook is protected at all times with cutesy, slim cases and secondly, everyone around you must know you are using a MacBook at all times. This product will do both because it is a see-thru hard-case made by Speck Products. Currently there is only a model that fits 15-inch MacBooks, but there will soon be a model that fits 13-inch MacBooks, as well. Forty-bones to be a stereotypical Apple user—that sounds about right.

<![CDATA[iKitty for iPod]]> From the makers of the iGuy comes its feline cousin, the iKitty. Yes, those crazy Speck guys are at it again with this cat-inspired iPod case. It's not as posable as the iGuy, except for the tail, and is mostly just for show. You can also access the dock connector and headphone-jack with it. And is it just me, or does it look like the cat is flipping you off with its tail in this photo?

The iKitty comes in regular iPod sizes (20, 30, 40, and 60 GB versions) though a mini version is coming soon (no word on a nano version). Each one will run you $34.95 if you decide you want one of these things.

<![CDATA[Speck iPod nano Cases]]>
The iPod nano hasn't been out a week and already there are a kajillion third-party cases for the tiny player. Speck, maker of the iGuy, just announced a grand total of nine cases—just for the nano, making them the largest seller of cases for the iPod nano so far (they claim). Here's the skin-filled lineup: the SkinTight, the SkinTight Deluxe, the ToughSkin, the nano iGuy (of course), the Cloud FunSkin, the Grass FunSkin, a nano ArmBand case, the Connect&Protect (a collection of holsters, lanyards, and wrist straps), and the See-Thru 3-pack. They run about $19.95 to $34.95 each, and will be for sale in October. Check out the press release or product page for the full details.
