The best way to implement this to ultimately bring down the whole red light camera system is to only use plates that belong to a person who could not possibly be at the scene of the violation, times a gajillion.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go through for revenge. Especially having to match the right model and color. Whatever happened to the nerds getting revenge on the jocks by winning the greek games, and then making out with a hot girl on trampoline while dressed as Darth Vader?

And then the cameras are equipped with vaporizing rays, and the clever little bastards took a bullet for their enemies.

Funny. I think these cameras are dangerous, 'cause they'll cause someone to slam on the breaks at a yellow light regardless of what maniacs are right on their tail. They really should be outlawed.

@stryder100: If they can safely make it through the intersection, they shouldn't be slamming their brakes on a yellow light.

If they can't gauge whether they can safely make it through the intersection, they shouldn't be driving.

nice one. they should take it one step further and wear paper masks of the person who's supposed to be driving the car as well.

@Keebler: I remember they did that on Colombo once. But Columbo figured it out b/c the nose didn't cast a shadow with a picture.

@ripfire: In the spirit of being sarcastic.. Yeah, because they can't just put on the mask right before the camera then take it off right after.

@el bryanto: Yes because everybody carries a mask in their car, anticipating for the right moment to put it on instead of paying attention to the car who is about to t-bone you.

@el bryanto: Yes it's so easy to anticipate for the camera, take your time to put it on, and speed through the red-light intersection rather than pay attention to the F150 who is about to tbone your car. All for the purpose of enjoying defeating a device that was meant to reduce potential fatal risk.

Yeah. You're right. I can see why you would need to defend his arguement.

I guess in the U.S. you don't have to have an actual picture of the driver in the car. This is the problem with our speed cameras.

In many countries in Europe you need to have a picture of the car and a picture of the driver in the car or it is not enforceable. Although then I guess you could have wearable masks of your enemies.

Either way, I wish they would just do away with the whole thing. I love to speed, wooohooooo!!!

@iwantcokeinabottle: Wasn't there some guy in germany who had a comically oversized cartoon character on his lap when passing through such zones? I don't remember the stuffed animal being used, I just remember laughing.

@iwantcokeinabottle: What's to stop people from then creating a face mask of the person? I mean with Facebook / Myspace--Getting someones picture in color is not hard. Jeremey Clarckson did it in Top Gear.

@Vroomtrap: You check for a shadow from their nose. They tried this on Columbo, and even with his gimpy eye, he spotted a lack of a nose shadow, and caught the murderer.

    @iwantcokeinabottle:
Not all US States require a license plate on the front of the car. Many only require one on the back. In Michigan, I've even seen cars with a valid Michigan plate in back, and an expired other-State plate (Hawaii seems popular for this) in front.

It's better than letting the power mad cops handle the law. I'd love nothing more than to lay off 90% of the police forces and replace them with robots and cameras.
