    I am old fashioned and get my hydration from plain old H2O. I have to say, thats the most unappealing packing I ever saw. At first glance it looked like some product to clean your bathroom.

    @rDub: Portable beverage? I already invented dehydrated water. Just add 4 quarts of dihydrogenmonoxide (be careful handling, DHMO can kill!)to make one delicious gallon of water.

    NASA already tried this way back. It was called Tang and no one really wanted it because it could not be used to make chocolate milk.

    @OMG! Ponies!: Tang was made by General Foods Corporation, not NASA. And it CAN be used to make chocolate milk. Though I would advice not drinking it.

    @Rabid Penguin: I disagree with your version of history. Ever wonder what astronauts do when they're not astronauting?

    Until 1989, astronauts spent their downtime working in NASA's mines, extracting ferrous tangium, a naturally-occurring radioactive iron alloy. The iron is extracted and used to power the magnetometers at your local library. The slag - known as tangite - is made into pellets and the shipped to NASA's processing facilities. There, Mission Control specialists process the tangite into Tang.

    General Foods just packages it. NASA mines it and processes it. It was yet another boondoggle brought to us by the Ford Administration.
