Definitely a deal breaker if a smart phone doesn't have wifi for me. I live in the middle of Iowa so 3g coverage is pretty dismal no matter what carrier I choose. But, I am also covered in wifi in 95% of the places I go. For me it is a necessity or I might as well not buy a smart phone.

WiFi is not a dealbreaker for me, but I for sure would be a happier camper if it had it.

Wifi should DEFINITELY be included on anything wanting to be considered a smartphone. I don't understand why it wouldn't be.

No Wifi? That's a dealbreaker, ladies.

Is WiFi a dealbreaker? God yes. I have to have WiFi - my iPhone hops on my home network at home, my work network in the office, and my friend's/families network when hanging out at their houses, etc. 3G can't touch a WiFi connection.

I couldn't fathom surfing the web on the toilet without WiFi. ;^p

Eh... it eats up my batteries if I leave it on, and when I lack a connection I'm normally just in the middle of a field, where wifi wouldn't help. If I'm indoors, I probably have a laptop or desktop available to make better use of wifi. It's not a deal breaker, but it's nice to have.

…we're glad to hear a major player is embracing it for the foreseeable future.
I hate to say it—I actually like Sprint—but it doesn't seem to me that they will continue to be a "major player" for any foreseeable future. Sprint = The Good Guys of wireless providers

@bosskev: This is crazy. I should not be the only "featured commenter" here.

Definitely a deal breaker on smart phones. And just good business sense for them as a provider. One more person using WiFi equals one less burden on the network.
