the satellite could relay your position in relation to other receivers in the area.
If that ever gets invented, i want royalties...unless it already exists...

It's called a PASS (Personal Alert Safety System) Alarm, and yes, it does make a 100 db noise when you don't move for 30 seconds. However, it does not ring at the engine, and the only way to know where the downed firefighter lay is to find and then follow the noise.
