In reply to Star Wars Zombie Posters Are Crying Out For Zombie Films To Advertise
I like the concept, but the execution is hamfisted and uninspiring. Zombifying inanimate objects and scrunching up characters' faces (or replacing them entirely with skulls) doesn't really do justice to the zombie style. I see nothing here that really exemplifies or celebrates the classic/cliche zombie tropes in Star Wars fashion.

Jar Jar Binx looks like a crazy ass Jim Henson gremlin than he does a zombie. There's too much plain skull action going on, and not enough half-gnawed faces.

As both an illustrator and fan of zombies, I think these posters deserve a bit of critique.

Basically, in my opinion, they're either not pushing zombie enough, or are going too far by just substituting skulls. In the "New Epidemic" poster, Luke looks more mentally disabled than zombified; the same goes for Han & Leia. Vader and the Emperor are just skeletons, which are different than zombies.

Plus, why is the Emperor even in this poster? He doesn't make an appearance in "A New Hope"...

The only appropriately zombified thing in the whole series of posters is the Tauntaun, but I would think that classifies better as rabies anyway.

And finally, it feels very forced to try to zombify droids and spaceships. I give them points for effort, but overall I'm not feeling it.

I said it on io9 yesterday, but does anyone think that Luke in "A New Epidemic" looks like Ellen Degeneres?

Ok, it looks awesome but a few minor quibbles:

This needs a jog-dial, the clicking looks really awkward.

Who on Earth would read e-books on a 2.8" screen?

The LED setup is neat, but less is more sometimes. A dimmer would do a lot for those LEDs.
