So is steampunk basically a synonym for "Victorian"? Because I would imagine for something to be steampunk, it would have to involve steam (or faux steam machinery) and a punk element of some kind.
@closhedbb: Not _everything_ has to be steam-driven. This, in particular, would be human-powered by design, so there's no need for the keyboard itself to have any steam-powered component, unless that's how it would be designed to transmit the commands to the steam-powered computer.
A long time ago, I operated a Western Union Telex machine to transmit messages arund the world, and the keyboard looked very much like this one. I had to strike the keys hard enough to punch holes in a tape and have been abusing keyboards with heavy keystrokes ever since.
@flaxseed: Gaslamp Fantasy? That's how the Foglios refer to Girl Genious, which they've said they sorta borrowed from the title of the excellent Gotham By Gaslight graphic novel.
