US Airways Removing All In-Flight Movies, Didn't Want Your Stupid Business Anyways

Apparently, flying is just too pleasurable an experience, which is why US Airways is getting rid of all in-flight movies and is canceling plans to test out a new entertainment system in its planes. Wah wahhhh! More »

T-Mobile Sidekick users are reportedly having major problems with built-in AOL Instant Messenger, including messages that are delayed, out of sequence, or never received at all. T-Mo blames it on AIM, and neither side has a plan to resolve this yet. Sorry, Sidekick users! [BGR]

Those wildfires in Southern California are getting dangerously close (as close as 100 yards) to some of our favorite companies, as Sony, HP and Broadcom have shut down business for the day and evacuated their offices. Some employees have or will lose homes to the fires, which frankly sucks balls. Stay safe guys! [KUSI]

How to Comment: The Gauntlet Has Been Picked Up

Seems like the pirate got wind of our Halo 3 challenge. Good. Challenge is accepted. We had a little warmup Halo yesterday with Ashcraft, Luke, and Mark Wilson, and I have to say, I think Gizmodo's ready for what they've got. And if you're still trying to decide which side/site you should root for, just remember: they're pirates and we're ninjas. That may make things easier for you.

Don't know how to comment? Here's how:

Golden Piggy MicroSD Card Reader is Definitely Creepy

If we had a "weird gadget of the day," I'm fairly confident that this would be it. This is a pretty simple MicroSD card reader, but it is in the shape of a pig—a gold pig. If pigs weren't scary enough as it is, now they are terrifying my dreams in shiny gold. Just look at the little pig and his removable head and satanic eyes gazing into your soul. Scared yet? You should be. $8. More »

Powerbrick Foot Warming Slippers

It may be the warmer time of the year (for most of us), but that doesn't mean we can't look ahead to the winter. This is a conceptual design of a footwarmer that is "powered" by a laptop power brick. They are regular slippers equipped with a pocket that can hold powerbricks of all shapes and sizes. Just boot up your laptop and let the brick do the rest. More »

Philips X200 Hoists Its Screen for the Brits

Philips isn't exactly the first brand that comes to mind when you think of laptops, but their upcoming X200 Ultra Portable actually looks pretty nice. It's got some pretty standard specs, such as a 1.73GHz Core Duo U2500 processor, a 100GB HDD, and 1GB of RAM, but what really makes it stand out is its Flybook-esque screen riser. It hoists the 12.1-inch widescreen LCD up to a bit closer to eye level, which keeps you from hurting your neck while you work. Oh, and it also has a 1.3-megapixel webcam built into the screen. iTunes Sucks Compared to Pirated Videos

iTunes is having trouble competing against the quality of pirated content. It's like déjà vu all over again when you're talking about movie downloads competing against pirated copies of the same films. Just like the old days of Napster and free music downloads running rampant because of the dearth of legal music downloads, piracy still gives you better results today. More »

Happy Birthday, iPod: Top Ten Reasons Why I Hate You

Hey, today's the iPod's fifth birthday, born October 23, 2001. We'd sing Happy Birthday, but copyright law prevents us from doing so unless we pay the owner of that song. So instead of crooning that hackneyed ditty, we're going to spread the haterage about the iPod. More »

UMPCs Suck Hard

It's becoming clearer and clearer that the UMPC is just a baby tablet and, like the tablet, will soon end up smeared in blood in an ER rather than smeared with peanut butter on your coffee table. More »

Windows Vista Beta 2 Sucks

Columnist Gary Krakow informs the world that Vista Beta 2 "was one of the worst operating system experiences that I've ever encountered." While this bit of ungrammatical hyperbole is purely subjective, we're slowly getting the feeling that the big V is going to blow a donkey. More »
