@Giz-Guy: If you point a camcorder (or even a digi-camera) at pretty much any monitor or tv you will see some amount of this flicker. And no 99.99% of the time you can't see it with the naked eye.
@BeautifulAgony: It seems I failed sarcasm this evening.. I was trying to say that CRTs flicker on camera and that if he read article he would know about the hz and awwwww fudge it.
@Skeetz: Damn it, use your proper sarcasm tags, people! Proper HTML (Hot Temper Mitigation Language) is vitally important in these comment sections... ;)
@OdeliaTermite: Spoilers technically make your car slower, since they create more drag. However, your car is more stable since there is more down force, so stability and handling are better at high speeds.
@wishnias: and of course, being a structural engineer, I couldn't help but take it to the next level and figure out how strong this thing could actually be.
Assuming it's only half a meter wide (it looks pretty skinny from the photo, but this is conservative), it should be able to withstand a point load of approximately 565lbs, which is far more than I'd trust to the glass table in my living room.
Without running a finite element analysis, this is only an estimate, but should be reasonably accurate.
@wishnias: I'd be more worried about the angle of the taper on the edge. Too shallow, and those edges are going to be pretty fragile, even if the center span could carry the load. Not to mention the points where the legs attach to the top.
