    If it weren't for the really short amount of time after the release of the 3GS, it would be possible that they sent the phone out to be waterproofed.

    @anoteoftruth: I think everyone already knows I'm a geek.

    @Scazza: Yeah, but I want to be able to go deeper than 3 feet. I'm don't need a rugged/splash protection case. I will only be using it when I want to take pictures underwater. And talk on the phone underwater. The deeper the better.

    @snubz: It did not prove it - I will need experiential data before I even believe that this video is not a hoax. brb.

    Something just like this happened to me when I was swimming across the river and realized I had my first gen iPhone in my pocket.

    Bag of rice later and she works!

    @xoforoct wishes he lived in chasm city: Trick for getting moisture of out water-logged electronics. The rice sucks the moisture of the nooks 'n crannies.

    @snubz: If that worked, I could leave a bowl of rice on my windowsill on a humd day and have it be "cooked". Un-popped popping corn OTOH, will suck up moisture.

    I dont find it to far fetched that an iPhone dropped in a pool would work afterwards. If the phone was dried out properly it could very well still power up.

    My dad would drone on and on about America. He thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, sliced bread having been invented the previous winter.
