I think this is a disservice to the Giz readers.
Should have posted this tomorrow at the earliest.

Seriously play Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, Bioshock, or Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I'm not saying every game is full of complex characters, some are just about blowing crap up but to dismiss the entire medium as childish and nothing more than enough idiotic explosions strewn together to make Michael Bay happy is insulting.

James Cameron had said once he felt that T2 was the end of the story. It wasn't and he was wrong. The story needed to be continued to an end and JAMES CAMERON HIMSELF should have finished it.
I didn't even bother to see T3. A rerun of T2 with a bimbo for a terminator?
T4: Salvation looked interesting from the previews but I got worried after all that annoying shakespeare crap coming out of Christian Bale's mouth. The CGI looks cool but thats what is probably making it only slightly better than T3.
A shame really. A real real shame.

Yes thats his right. He could stay underwater and keep making titanic movies from a sub or work on avatar for the next 20 years.
What I am saying is that he was wrong about the terminator story being finished and that he shoulda finished it himself.
But this is news to me that he lost the rights from a divorce? That is ridiculously sad and shouldn't have happened.
Cute point about Lucas. But Cameron isn't Lucas. Look at T3 and what seems to be T4. Tell me you wouldn't have wanted Cameron to do those films instead. Go ahead and try I dare you.

The Terminator franchise is suffering the same fate as Alien. Alien and Aliens were both excellent movies, but their success drew out shitty sequels, and eventually two horribly shitty crossover movies.
I'm still waiting for Terminator vs. Johnny 5.

And I think the whole story is he sold the rights to his then wife, Gale Anne Hurd for a dollar. Then they got divorced, as he is wont to do.

Besides, the whole resolution of T2 would render the timeline that followed it - and looped round to form the events of the first movie - null and void, seeing as they destroy Skynet and the two T800 cpus which Cyberdyne based Skynet on. No Skynet, no future war. No future war, no time travel. No time travel, no John Conner, etc, etc.

I'm also responding to the other guy. How can you all tell me with a straight face that you think T2 wrapped up everything?
Isn't it obvious to all of you that the very very end of the entire teminator saga is in fact the moment the first terminator was sent back in time?
Remember what Kyle Reese said in T1? Skynet was done, his defense grid smashed (or something like that). It was then he (skynet) decided that the only way to win was to send Arhnold back in time. Watching John Connor personally take out that blasted skynet right before or after skynet sends the first T-800, T-1000 and then John sending Kyle and the 2nd T-800 back in time is what I thought the end of of the saga would be.
Thus completing the time loop.
