you know I've seen a lot of machine intelligences ambulating around with BSODs in their eyes, but the pusherbot don't care if you simulate life or if your main-board fries.

I said I ordered my phone a couple days ago and saw Oprah was giving $100 off promo and wanted to know if I could be applied to my order. The lady worked her magic and viola - $100 code applied!! so might be worth a call if already ordered one!

Not for nothing-I mean, I like it when Android gets attention-but I haven't trusted her ability to grasp anything internet related since that 9,000 penises fiasco. ;-)

1st Its a good idea to have some sort of access to your SD card in your phone OTHER then the USB teathered method. This should not be TOO big of a deal today as most PCs have a Card reader built into them.
2nd SD cards themselves can make a big difference in performance. While it is possible to run apps off of the card that came with your G1/MyTouch its not really suggested. Most users have a Class 6 sdcard. Any of the the following from newegg should work very well : [tinyurl.com]
3rd Make sure the rom you download supports your SPL and Radio. ***You can end up with a non booting phone if you dont have the right SPL and a crappy connecting phone if you dont have the right Radio. Look on your phone in SETTINGS> ABOUT PHONE >Baseband Version. This number will tell you what radio you have install on your phone. Also if the ROM you are downloading states that it needs any type of special SPL, then I would suggest going with another ROM till you become a little more familiar with flashing. Cyanogens ROMs are a good place to start as they do not need a special SPL installed. As for the Radio if you have version62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I you should be fine.
4th While I feel that Cyan Roms get the most attention and to some degree deservingly so. The most stable ROM in my opinion as of late is the JACxRom which can be found here: [forum.xda-developers.com] In truth this doesnt matter as most people in the community cant seem to keep the same rom on their phone for more then a few weeks, if that. So once you get use to flashing and what it involves, feel free to play with a few of the roms to find the one that works best for you. Also if you have a question about anything make sure to post it in this forum. [forum.xda-developers.com]
Good luck and welcome to the community.
