Takara Tomy's Sakasa Master Japan records anything you say and spits it out backwards. If you're needing gift ideas for random relatives, this $15 toy should get a week's use before it's tossed aside. [Strapya via TokyoMango]

<![CDATA[Bowlingual Discovers that Every Dog Has an Inner Japanese Woman]]> What is your dog trying to say when he's barking at bicyclists riding by your window? If only we spoke Japanese, we'd know.

Back in 2002, TakaraTomy released a device called the Bowlingual, which claimed to translate a dog's barking into human dialect you could read from a screen. Now, 7 years later, the company has updated Bowlingual to include vocalization—you know, like a text-to-speech GPS but for an animal discussing the merits of eating one's own feces.

It's a Japan-only toy, so the voice of the American dog movement will continue to go unheard. But do what we do and just assume that your dog is perpetually trying to warn you that the old mill is burning down. Better safe than sorry. <![CDATA[Cheapo Version of Wii Fit Offers 100 Million Workouts]]> Jump into your glittery spandex pants and crown you head with that leopard headband, because you are going to need them to follow the 100 million—yes, million—three-minute workouts of the Minutes Gym Digital Video Trainer.

That's what Takara Tomy says: Their $73 Minutes Gym thingie will give you 100,000,000 different workout exercises, three minutes each. It will also measure your fat and keep track of it over a three month period. I don't know how well this will work—or if it will work at all—but I like the cute graphics:

<![CDATA[Takara Tomy's Doggy Pedometer Encourages Your Pets Not To Be As Lazy As You]]> Takara Tomy has come out with a dog-specific, digital pedometer that not only works as a digital dog tag, but also records your dog's physical activities including eating, sleeping and walking. But what about sexing?

Unlike pedometers for humans that can only regulate movement in two legs, the $55 doggy pedometer uses special technology that allows it to monitor movement in all of its four legs. It also has a sensor that can detect whether your dog is actually walking and running as opposed to just shaking, scratching, or even frantically humping your leg. [New Launches via OhGizmo!]

<![CDATA[Re-Released Takara Tomy Transformers Watch Needs a Little More AllSpark]]> If you need help reliving your childhood, Takara Tomy is re-releasing its classic Transformers watch. I don't remember Transformers looking so drab though. Funny what a few years will do to your perspective.

The Transformers Chrono Label will come in two versions: Cybertron Autoceptor and Destron Time Limit. The old-school dot graphic timepiece detaches from the wristband, and with a bit of tugging becomes a tiny little transforming robot.

It can be pre-ordered from NCSX for $290.90 each. Wow, is there anyway we can transform that price into something less ridiculous? And maybe bring back this cute pop-up Transformer watch instead? At least it's got colors. [Geek Alerts]

<![CDATA[Tomy's Piggy Bank Comes With Built-In RPG]]> Japanese kids and otaku need slightly more motivation than the rest of us to save money, and to that end, Takara Tomy has made a piggy bank with an RPG game built right on there. It's called Bank Quest (was Final Bank Fantasy taken?) and you can buy weapons and armor for your dude from the savings you place inside. That reminds us of the RPG Toilet we saw in Japan one time that rewarded us for the size, weight and consistency of he deuce we dropped. Wait, that might not have happened. <![CDATA[A Quick Glimpse of Tokyo Toy Show 2008 ]]> For those of us not lucky enough to be at this year's Tokyo Game Show, here's a quick highlight video running through some of the more interesting products. Our favorite has to be the AeroSpider by Takara Tomy. It's an R/C car that can burn donuts on 90-degree surfaces (like walls) and then top off the act by driving completely inverted on the ceiling. We're sure that parents will just love it. [CScoutJapan via bbGadgets]

<![CDATA[Le Soba Machine Gets you Soba in the Privacy of your Own Home]]> Soba lovers of the world rejoice, for you can now buy the Ie Soba from Takara Tomy, a machine that can make you Soba noodles at home. Traditionally rather a time-consuming process, all you need is buckwheat powder, wheat flour, water and 20 minutes. See it boxed up below.

<![CDATA[Takara Tomy Air Filter for Babies Cleans Air, But Chokes You With Its Cuteness]]> Famed maker of awesome Takara Tomy's latest bundle of cool is a super cute air filter for babies. It's outfitted with an antibacterial filter and Sharp's "decontamination ion" purification tech (my AC in Japan actually had this too) so your offspring don't inhale all the nasty, germ-y stuff floating around your house. It's about $150 (17,640 yen), so it's kind of pricey, but it's smaller (115x80x140mm) and definitely packs in more cute per square inch than most air filters. [Fuji Sankei via Tokyo Mango]

<![CDATA[i-SOBOT, World's Smallest Humanoid Robot, Hits US Next Month]]> Takara Tomy's 6.5-inch, Guinness-certified "smallest humanoid robot in production," i-SOBOT, is finally making its way to our primitive shores next month. The English website and price are still "coming soon," but since this dancing, push-upping wunderbot runs about $300 in Japan, we can pretty safely guess it'll be thereabouts. Hopefully we'll have our meatpuppet mitts on one soon to tell you if it's worth it. [i-SOBOT]

<![CDATA[Virtual Train Simulator For Japanese Kids]]> Can you imagine what kind of boring life you'd grow up to have if what you played with as a Japanese kid was a virtual commuter train simulator? All you do is go from one commuter stop to the next, picking up other sad sack salarymen, all the while enjoying the sights that is Japan's urban jungle. Makes me want to off myself just thinking about it. [TakaraTomy via Plastic Bamboo]

<![CDATA[Bomb Piggy Bank Explodes When You Take Money Out]]> Well "explodes" is perhaps a bit harsh, but if you take too long to retrieve your cash monies, the LED fuse lights up and the bomb gets a bit unruly—it starts shaking and then chucks your coinage. If that sounds like your idea of a party (Uncle Scrooge, what?) you can pick one up in Japan from Takara Tomy for about 25 bucks on Oct. 26.

<![CDATA[NEC Laptop For Secret Spy Missions]]>

NEC and Takara Tomy's Secret Fort Type-No1 laptop wins mad props for creativity and nothing for style. It's basically an ordinary laptop disguised as a secret fort for that spy mission that's taking place in that crazy head of yours. It comes with an emergency button, a "glitter" LED screen for flashing urgent messages, a CD-Rom that'll give you secret fort-style wallpapers and icons to match the stickers you can put on the laptop's body to make it look more serious—or ridiculous, depending on how you look at it.
