Agreed. This whole txt-speech thing bothers me for some reason. I can't stand mangling the English language like that. When I send text messages they contain complete words, punctuated, and properly capitalized.
I understand that's too much work for some people so they slack off and abbreviate. But that's the reason people send text messages in this atrocious short hand. It isn't because people like reading it that way, it's because they hate to type. If your car is sending the message automatically, it can take the time to use complete words.

This half assed text speak was born the ugly child of the T9 era. Unfortunately BB's, iPhones, and other smartphones aren't cheap enough for the masses yet. And since most people will still have phones without full keyboards for quite a few more years, I don't see the trend going away anytime soon.

And I do. Every time. I think most people who do this are just lazy and don't care, but there are some people who legitimately think that they should type like that, that it would make them "uncool" for actually typing words out.
