Toshiba's TG01 could've been such a great phone. On paper, the specs were great—it was the first phone to use a Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and the 4.1-inch screen was perfect for media playback. Yet it disappointed.
Folks at Usuda Research Institute and Systems Corp got tired of their Toshiba TG01s just not being sensitive enough. (Unlike that dreamy Wii MotionPlus!) So rather than calling it quits on the relationship, they built a super-sensitive motion sensor.
"Sleek, elegant design," says the official video of the Toshiba TG01 smartphone. And it's true. But their interface demo also shows why it may be the best Windows Mobile weapon against Android, iPhone, and Blackberry.
There may not be a Zune Phone, but Toshiba's—the original Zune manufacturer—new Windows Mobile 6-based TG01 smartphone is close enough. And with a 4.1-inch screen and 9.9mm thickness, it looks extremely good.
