I've been playing "Beneath A Steel Sky" for the past week. I like it quite a bit actually. Anybody else find the same with this title? #theweekiniphoneapps
There is a major issue with the NBA league pass app that's not mentioned in the description, but check the reviews. Say you're a Lakers fan, you live in L.A., but you're out and about a lot and want to be able to follow the game. Sounds like the perfect app, right? It would be except the app blacks out the games for local teams in all areas. So the app is useless for following your favorite team if, which is probable, you live in the area your team plays. #theweekiniphoneapps
@KBeat: I would think that would be solvable by checking the GPS location at the time you request the stream (or check the wifi estimated location, if the device doesn't have GPS, such as a Touch).
If you're not within X miles radius of the game you're trying to watch, you get to see it. Otherwise, blackout.
@Zanzan42: But that doesn't really "solve" anything.
Yeah it would work if you were traveling and wanted to watch your favorite team (when you weren't in x miles) but most people would want it for just when they're on the town. Going out for drinks at a bar that doesn't have TV, dinner at a nice restaurant with the wife, those sort of things. That is the kinda stuff that would get blacked out and is pretty silly. #theweekiniphoneapps
@tande04: If you're out for drinks at the bar, they're probably paying to carry the game.
If you're out for dinner with the wife at a nice restaurant, are you seriously going to break out your device and watch the game? I suppose that solves the problem, because you'll be seeing the next game alone at the bar... #theweekiniphoneapps
@Zanzan42: They're probably paying for the game in the bar with no TVs? Thats silly. That bar isn't staying in business long.
The over all point being there are tons more situations that come up where it would be handy to have in the town where the team is than the flip situation of a person using it only in travel situations. #theweekiniphoneapps
I wish the graphics on zombie babes were a bit better. with those disjointed heads and arms, the developer might as well have hired an ugly chick and saved a couple of bucks. (no offense to ugly chicks out there) #theweekiniphoneapps
@soggy_cheerio: After reading the review I thought perhaps that Settlers of Catan was for me, and then you also said it was awesome, so I became excited.
And then you said that other thing, and I realized you were not to be trusted. #theweekiniphoneapps
@ripfire: that's an upgrade. you start out with a raccoon but you can get a skunk, and I'd imagine other things later but I haven't made it that far. #theweekiniphoneapps
I did an interview with the creator of the ReelDirector video editor for the iPhone, here. It's interesting what the developer had to say about the API limitations of the iPhone, among other stuff. #theweekiniphoneapps
can anyone vouch for how well the iphone alarm apps work? i have nightstand but have been scared to use it as my primary alarm. although while i write this i realized that i could set the built in iphone alarm as a failsafe. #iphonealarm#theweekiniphoneapps
@AlexSea: the iPhone is a great failsafe, especially after you've offended the wake up guy and kramer has blown out all the fuses warming up his 50,000 btu hottub.
@AlexSea: The downside to the iPhone alarm is that it is ringer-volume dependent. The vibrate switch does not affect it, however, if you tend to keep your volume low otherwise it can ruin the alarm.
Re: Proactive Sleep // "bon-a-fide sleep researcher" -- John Herrman, stop making shit up.
P.S. Don't waste your money on that app. It will do very little in terms of "sleep coaching" or retraining your circadian rhythm, which, is far more important in terms of sleeping in peace.

So why do I need to buy an app that does just that?? #theweekiniphoneapps

I've downloaded a lot more since then, played the hell out of them, but I still go back to tower madness again and again.
Part of it is that the maps are constantly updated and they usually have a contest each time which is kinda fun. #theweekiniphoneapps

1) Settlers of Catan is indeed an awesome game.
2) The NBA hardly resembles basketball. #theweekiniphoneapps
