I'm making the call right now....some moron is gonna buy this suit and try to actually fight crime, get shot, and wonder why his "Kevlar" suit didn't protect him.
what, no helmet? wont go for it without the complete look. maybe just fashion a few ears onto a black helmet. not quite the cool batman cowl, but it would at least complete the look.

Visual effects isn't just about computer-generated special effects. It encompasses the entire look and feel of a movie. If the visual effects really are good, you don't even notice them. That's why I chose Dark Knight. There are a lot of visual effects but you never think to yourself, "This isn't real."
The Dark Knight is a really good-looking movie, but I think "effects" should go to Button, even if it's not the Greatest Movie in Recorded History [via Heath Ledger].
I'm trying to remember any special effects in batman?
I guess that big prop bomb he tosses into the ocean, and I believe he gets in a fist fight wit ha shark at some point, that probably required computer graphics.
@PadreScout: The plane he gets onto next to his yacht was entirely shopped in. The Dive off a Hong Kong building was all superimposed (they couldnt actually film in HK.. duh me) and the entire sequence where the batmobile gets hit with a rocket was a 1/10 scale model track. Though the batpod was a fully built and functioning vehicle, there is a bit of CGI when it gets launched and when it 360s by running its front wheel up the side of a building. The hospital explosion? The cell phone in the guy's stomach? The guy that got dropped 3 stories and broke his legs? The Echo Location? Yeah...
See you didnt even NOTICE the special effects in batman, and to me, thats the Entire Point. Which is why I hope Dark Knight wins it.
@PadreScout: The duckies off the pier were edited in. And the guys the Penguin rehydrated? That was FX as well. But both he and Robin DID walk sideways up and down the buildings.
@Overheal: The tumbler getting hit by a rocket was full size. When it hits the garbage truck - that is actually 1/4 scale miniature. 1/4 scale is huge.
Once again we see family films get slighted. "Speed Racer" had great visuals, but for my money I thought "City of Ember" had outstanding visual effects.
To create an entire community living well past its expiration point was an incredible feat and I think they pulled it off quite nicely. Perhaps they deducted points for the giant mole scenes, though I think those worked well, too.
They did not blow enough shit up to win an oscar for best picture in CCBB. I was ready to leave when BB left his house. To God Damn long! The Dark Knight, Was action packed and entertaining all the way through.I have watched it 5 more times since on DVD. There was no lull. That is Oscar material to me. I left CCBB feeling more or less bored. I will not be renting and ripping the DVD.
@willyboy: I wonder if this is a satirical post depicting the average Joe movie goer who needs to see stuff blowing up in their face every five minutes. At least I hope so. The types that go, "Damn, There Will be Blood is awful! 3 hours of Oil men? Are you serious?"
