I've seen a lot of aliens in my day, believe you me, but never one that had a "26" pinned to it's waist.

I thought they were bug costumes at first. You can buy fashion but you cant buy style. These are/have neither.

This goes to show that anything passes for "fashion" nowadays. Nobody will ever wear these things so what is the point in actually making and showing these things off?

@anus1220: I judge whether or not something is fashionable by how much it makes me want to sleep with the woman. The above "clothing" makes me want to be asexual or reproduce through cellular division.

You know? I am a sewer myself and in true nerd fashion I own a $10,000 computerized sewing machine and the software that accompanies it. This type of story has appeal to me, but I can't help but think that this is just not a typical GIZMODO story. What's up Giz, are you exploring your feminine side?

@Software_Goddess: I was unaware "true nerd fashion" meant bragging about how much money you wasted on a fucking sewing machine.

You must be the nerdiest nerd you know.

From what I can tell, spending 10K on a sewing machine would get you commercial grade equipment, elaborate stitching programs, as well as BEDAZZLING abilities. So even if you had one, you would lose your nerd cred by only being able to make mid-western prom dresses in various shades of pink and sky blue.

@RealTomatoKetchup: Well this comment is just plain RUDE. I did not waist a dime on my machine. You have no idea what this 'bad boy' can do so you should keep you rude mouth shut about it.

@Software_Goddess: The point was that no one cares about the price of your sewing machine. Sure, I may be RUDE but at least I'm not TACKY.

@RealTomatoKetchup: Dumbass: The same as a very high end piece of electronics, those sewing machines can be heavily loaded with techincal options which will increase their cost. I must almost point out that you are both rude AND tacky. Dumbass.

    @Curves: Ok, you guys win.

Apparently I was raised differently in thinking that it's not very becoming to boast of your things and the amount of money you have or have spent in order to get more things.

Was I being a dick, of course, this is the interweb.

Let me rephrase the original comment so as to not get the shallow folks upset:

"Perhaps letting us know the make and model of your machine would be more appropriate to the article than gloating over how much it cost, this IS a gadget site remember, not a rich kids pissing match."

    Best,

    -Dumbass

@RealTomatoKetchup: I think people get too offended when the price of something is brought out there to illustrate a product.

But then, this can go both ways, whether it be mentioning how much one splurged to satiate their nerdity, or how little one spent to boast on their frugality.

"I spent only $20 for this watch!" can be construed in the same manner.

But, to spare me from the tedious and lengthy task of Googling the make and model to get an idea of what I'm contending with, knowing that the sewing machine costs 10k and probably isn't coated in Swarovsky crystals glued on with platinum unicorn shit illustrates, to me, one badass sewing device.

    But that's just me.

So while Earthlings in space are still required to drink each other's piss, aliens apparently roll with an intergalactic team of dry cleaners and stylists.
