    here is my other test tha's not mobilespeedtest.com

    it definitely doesnt seem fast when im browsing. i dled the speedtest off of the market and here is what i got. just search for speedtest in the market.

    test # 1
    max dl speed 713.0 kbit/s
    max ul speed 159.4 kbit/s

    test#2
    the program decides to stop working even after a reboot of the phone. dont know if its the program or its tmobile.

    3652.9 kbps on the 1MB test
    3960.4 kbps on the 2MB test

    I'm in the metro Atlanta area. Pretty far outside the perimeter, so my speeds may not be an indication of the city as a whole.

    I got over 4.5mbps on the mobile site, [i36.tinypic.com] when using the 1000kb file, tried the other file sizes and all results were at least 3mbps.

    When testing with speedtest app, got .3 mbps which is slower than what i get on my pc when tethering, usually get around 2mbps

    I retethered, and only got 1mbps

    but swear, yesterday was getting at least 2mbps tethering

    Confirmed in Brooklyn. between 3k-6k/sec on a G1 through mobile speed test. I guess I could try though a tether. #tmobilehspa72rollout

    AndroidAndMe isn't entirely sure of the full rollout, they're looking for root users to tether then speedtest for full confirmation. So far no good results there. Definitely some increase in speed though, I went from 400-500 to 700-800 tonight #tmobilehspa72rollout

    I'm using a Touch Pro 2 in Bakersfield, CA and my first mobile speedtest result was 3636Kbps, thinking that was high i ran the 3mb test and my result was 12,435Kbps, running the test again gave me a speed of 4597Kbps, and my fourth time 5,228Kbps for an average of 6474Kbps. #tmobilehspa72rollout

    @Wyss: is 12,345kbps even possible? that's above even the theoretical limit... isn't it?

    The theoretical limit is 7.2Mbps... and wouldn't 12,435kbps = 12.4Mbps? or am I just too tired to make this make sense...?

    ....that's the problem with seeing things labeled in mbps, Mbps, and MBps...

    i'm pretty sure mbps isn't even a real unit - I know Kbps isn't.. it should technically be kbps but it's not uncommon to see it as Kbps... or worse, just K, as in 56K. bleh. #tmobilehspa72rollout

    well i just checked out mobile speed test and im keeping 4000-5000kbps on the 500kb, 1mb, 2mb and 3mb test. so maybe they did roll these out. im in the ohare area of chicago. #tmobilehspa72rollout

    @Scratic: That's understandable...

    Frankly, both GSMs in the US and Verizon have decent phones to me, and I'd like to see what can happen with a TDMA version of that phone.

    I'd also like to see a TDMA version of the Xperia, for that matter. #tmobilehspa72rollout
