couldn't he just "volunteer" wherever he chooses to work, and then just get some cash peddled to himself under the table? Does it still work like that now a'days?
I can understand the work thing, but why is the judge also ordering Papermaster to dress up like Tarvold from "Viking Quest" and throw grapes at customers in Apple retail stores? How is that even legal?
Non-compete clauses are inherently anti-competitive and unfair to the employee. I will only sign a non-compete if the two following conditions are met;
1) my employer pays me a competitive full salary + benefits while I am under non-compete, and
2) the company agrees not to hire anyone in my field, or continue with any products or services on which I have worked, for an equal period of time
I actually thought that California had decided that pretty much any non-compete was unenforceable. That's the way it should be; if you're not using protected company IP in your new job, you should have a right to work anywhere you please.
@Reil(aos): Are you kidding? The G.I. Joes are kicking the crap outta the Ken and showing Barbie what a real man with lifelike hair and a kung-fu grip looks like....
@Kaiser-Machead's Cookie-Powered LEGO Machine: It wasn't. I got the Apple release right after I hit publish, and made the changes from the WSJ's info right away. I chose not to use the strikethrough in this case, though usually I would (go back through my post history, there are plenty of strikethrough edits).
"Apple also announced that Tony Fadell, Apple's senior vice president of the iPod Division, and his wife Danielle Lambert, vice president of Human Resources, are reducing their roles within the company as they devote more time to their young family. Fadell will remain at Apple as an advisor to the CEO. Lambert will depart the company at the end of this year after a successor is in place."
@magnuscartus: Ahhh. That kind of bugs me when they do that without any comment on the fact that the article has been edited. Seems like you see it a lot on all of the Gawker sites. Ends up making half the comments look like idiots then the other half like douches when they make a comment on something that was perfectly valid before the original post was edited.
@tande04: I actually edited it before I saw the comment. Right after I hit publish I got the Apple release, which differed slightly from the information in the WSJ.

So, Tony is staying, and remaining as an advisor.

Yeah,
The article was edited to add that last line to the first paragraph shortly after I posted my comment. Go Figure.
