Is this going to be available on Wii? Probably got too much pressure from Nintendo to not tarnish it's all white selection of controllers and such. Would be bad ass if you could grip-tape that mother.
hey holy shit here's one they could actually do - a 'speed wobble' feature, where the board starts fighting with you and amplifying your balance adjustments side to side when you reach a certain speed! THAT would be cool as all hell.
also, there ought to be a 'pebble' feature where, at random intervals, the board suddenly tips forward and ejects the rider into full face-plant. you know, for realism.
@nutbastard: Problem with that is that adjusting truck nuts is a bit beyond comprehension for non-skaters, and they could end up seriously hurting themse....
They should make a game about the circus, and you have to stand on a ball with sensors in it, much like the elephants in the game do. That'd do well, right?
This looks to me like its going to bomb bigtime. It seems that it requires far too much coordination for the novice, and those who have the coordination are much more likely to be actual skateboarders who would much rather be outside skating. Guitar Hero works as a simulation because it draws on something universal (the air guitar) and makes it feel like you're an expert guitar player without having to spend years taking lessons. This doesn't look like it follows that formula at all, so I doubt it's going to be a hit among skaters or non skaters.
i dunno, i think skateboarding and guitar are equally difficult skills, each requiring at least a year or two of daily practice before anything sweet comes of it. the first time i tried guitar hero, even though i can play a lick of actual guitar, it was pretty difficult. strange input devices require a level of skill all their own in order to master em - hell half of the difficulty of guitar hero is getting the fucking thing to respond properly, and learning the nuances of the hardware which theoretically shouldn't be such a huge factor.
verdict: nothing wrong with simulation games, but dammit the real thing is much more rewarding. think "Porn Star Hero" where you stand in front of your TV incessantly humping the air. that's a good analogy to illustrate the vastly unsatisfying divergence between simulations and the things they simulate.
well you can't really judge scale except for the buttons on the side. with that said those buttons would be kinda big if the board were full size wouldn't it? it looks a little thicker than a standard deck, but i think this board may be a little smaller than we think.
Ever see a kid trip over his own flailing limbs while trying to play Dance Dance Revolution in a setting way beyond his abilities? Well, I want to witness someone go hogwild on this, with the same effect. I say bring on the teetering foot controls.
@SwatLax: You could easily consolidate that list into a few select groups. I can't imagine a longboarding game separate from a mountain or skateboarding game, the gameplay's too similar. Just have different game modes.

I guarantee you everyone who regularly skateboards has experienced this.

that's the whole reason why i ride 85a's, even though they're hard to find in small (normal) diameters

As for the tippyness, I can't believe they didn't build in a truck tightness adjustment nut. loose trucks = suck.
