First Space Bat, now Space Bag.....nooooooooo!!!!
Good thing she didn't enter medical school otherwise some poor sap might be walking around with a couple of pounds of medical instruments sewn up inside of him, or her...
You know, for $100k, I could probably design a tool bag with tools that don't burn up in low earth orbit. I'm extremely disappointed that the tools "burn."
I can't believe that piece of crap was $100k. It looks like a simple canvas bag. I think the same guy that sold thousand dollar hammers to the White House was involved.
But what if grease guns and trash bags are my request? Do you have any idea what kind of fun could be had? I swear some people just don't think things through.

@Dr. Evil Genius: No, she wasn't fired. A determination of whether the bag was improperly tethered, or if a tether failed, couldn't be determined. Prior to losing the bag, there had been an issue with the malfunction of a grease gun, which may have comprised the tether during the attempt to clean up the grease to prevent any issues with the tools or her suit. The grease was Braycote grease, used on the Alpha Solar Array Joints.
She was commended for reacting calmly and not attempting to retrieve the bag, which could have posed further dangers. She has, however, retired from the astronaut corps to return to the Navy.
FYI, to Sean Fallon, it's Heide (short for Heidemarie), not Heidi.
@thebear91: They named the ISS toilet after Colbert. He managed to get enough votes to name one of the new capsules but NASA didn't want any of that. So they compromised.
@Jim Topoleski: Damn it. Did NASA offer the toilet first and then they compromised on the treadmill? I could have sworn there was a toilet in there somewhere.

and BTW, perhaps if that were a douche bag instead of a tool bag she would have had a better grip on it!
