What could be more twee French than a company called Sensitive Object that works on "acoustic touch"? Is it run by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel?
Sound waves? I'd be interested in hearing how one deals with white noise. And what sort of sounds a finger touching a screen makes, or how you pinpoint it.
We'll see what they can end up doing with this, but it looks promising. As one person said, maybe by making screens and touchscreen devices even smaller because we wouldn't need the technology in the screen as we do now.
....Though, Android can automatically set a contact to go straight to voicemail. I'd imagine most other smartphones would have a way to do it, too. So, I guess it's kind of moot.
@BergenCountyJC can't beat MW2: I have to disagree with you here. Technology should be pushed in every way and every sense, because you really don’t know what will come of it. Lot of our things we use today is product of serendipity while perusing other goals. I could see commercial uses beyond the handset market.
It worked great in about 20 seconds on 3GS on O.S 3.1.2. just remember to turn off your Antivirus/Firewall and close iTunes before making it rain.
I'm happy to have so much functionality back, honestly though a lot of it should be there from the beginning. Tell me if I'm missing out on anything actually useful since I last jailbreaked with...

Ok so I upgraded my iPhone 3g to 3.1.2 and uses blackra1n on it but it keeps saying "working" even though it isn't. I have tried 3 times and all it does is put my phone in recovery mode.
@jacobwaldo2: try pulling the usb and plugging back in. that was a similar issue with purplera1n. if it fails, just try again. Hold Home and Sleep button for like 6 seconds or so if you are locked up, it'll reboot.
@aside: because you are in VMware. Use it in a full-fledged PC environment. won't work on a Mac running Parallels either. Has something to do with sharing the usb posrt, Blackra1n needs exclusiviety
So a locked iPhone is when it can only be used with one particular sim-card, correct? But what if my iPhone was purchased legitimately unlocked by my carrier right from the start (viva Europe)? Seeing as I haven't forcibly unlocked it via a jailbreak, I'm hoping it'll stay unlocked. Is this true or will I lose this ability?
@Christofer Haglund: while it's unlocked from factory, that's not a prevention that the "unlockable to date" baseband won't be upgraded. be VERY careful. I know you paid big bucks for a factory unlocked version....
This applies if you bought your iPhone 3G(S) for $$$$$$$. This model of iPhone 3G(S) doesn’t have an Service Provider lock (aka factory unlocked) and you are able to put any SIM card into the phone and get service. Your phone is already unlocked so you do not need to worry about baseband updates, if your device was Pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 then you can use PwnageTool to create an ipsw and then use this to update and jailbreak your phone."
@Faslane's avatar is squished: He doesn't have to be "VERY careful". He'll only need a jailbreak if he wants and he can use the tools to do that for him.

I still like the way you think, though.

On my system (both Win XP and Win 7, virtualized in VMWare) blackra1n.exe crashes miserably as soon as I press the button. It doesn’t do anything.
