Plus, now there are multiple trade-in upgrade paths:

1. Keep your RED ONE and shoot great images. Get continual free firmware upgrades.

2. Keep your RED ONE and upgrade your sensor to Mysterium-X for $4,500.

3. Trade your RED ONE in, and receive $17,500 credit, towards the purchase of an EPIC-X S35 Private Reserve package, which is only available to RED ONE customers.

4. Trade your RED ONE in, and receive $17,500 credit, towards the purchase of an EPIC FF35 Pro Cinema "Brain".

5. Trade your RED ONE in, and receive $17,500 credit, towards the purchase of an EPIC 645 Pro "Brain".

6. Trade your RED ONE in, and receive $17,500 credit, towards the purchase of an EPIC 617 Pro "Brain".

7. Keep your RED ONE and purchase a Scarlet System (one time only) with a 12% discount.

Remember that, if you have a Red One, a) you can only use one upgrade per camera—once you use it, the serial number is done; and b) we hate you.

Here is the price list:

Until we get our own, I will be playing with the one on loan at the Gizmodo Gallery. Come and check it out too. [Red User]

<![CDATA[NextWorth Swaps Your Old iPhone With Someone In Need, Gives You Cash For a Shiny New 3G]]> Original EDGE iPhones are still going for pretty serious dough on eBay like they were back in June, but if the market is anything like it was around the time of the first launch, you're likely to go through tons of fraudulent winners before you finally get connected with someone who'll actually pay. Saving you that hassle, but at a significant premium, is NextWorth, a service that will take your Jesus Phone (now Peter Phone? Hmm) and send you a cash voucher or Circuit City gift card for your trade-in, before probably selling it on eBay themselves. But is it worth it?

A quick search of recently completed auctions shows 8GB Peter Phones still fetching anything from $250 to a crazy-high $575. 16GB models are grabbing even more, seeing a range of the same $250 to $700+ (for new in-box, unlocked phones). Over at NextWorth (which will also take iPods), a 16GB with all the accessories and with "light wear" (as opposed to the "normal wear" which is the next highest option) will net you an even $300, just enough for a 16GB 3G. My 8GB, which is soundly in the "normal wear" category after a few drops and a broken headset, will only fetch me $180, which has me thinking eBay is the answer. NextWorth does not pay a premium for unlocked phones as many will on eBay, and if you read Giz, you should be able to unlock your phone and load it with whichever firmware seems most valuable before putting it up for auction, no sweat.

Anybody sold their iPhone EDGE on eBay recently? How's the market out there? Let me know. [NextWorth via Gadget Lab]

<![CDATA[Dealzmodo: Gamefly's Trade-In Program is Actually Pretty Good]]> I was just invited to the beta of the GameFly Trade-In Program because I've been a customer for a while, and the whole thing seems like a brilliant idea. You can apply credit toward your monthly payments only (used games would have been nice), and the prices they offer are actually pretty great compared to what you'd get at GameStop.

Examples:
BioShock: $23.00
Call of Duty 4: $23.00
Halo 3: $23.00
Lost Odyssey: $31.62
Kingdom Under Fire: $28.75
Rainbow Six Vegas 2: $31.62

The only downsides are that you can only get money off your subscription and you have to pack and ship your own games, but other than that it seems like a good deal if you can get a beta invite. [Gamefly]

<![CDATA[Alienware's new AlienExchange program will...]]> Alienware's new AlienExchange program will allow customers to trade in "select electronic devices" in exchange for a gift card or check towards Alienware products. Plus, trading in an old Alienware PC will score you $200 bucks on top of your trade in quote towards a new computer. The way these things are priced, you will probably have to sell your body for the rest.[AlienExchange]

<![CDATA[Sony Offers Discount, Screws Us]]> - GizmodoStill have an old camcorder hanging around? Is it expensive? Then Sony wants you to go to hell. They're offering a trade-in on the SonyStyle website but, as some wise folks soon discovered, the deal was a bit weak. For example...

Well...the calculator says my Sony DCR-HC90 in mint condition with all the accessories is worth $300.

The DCR, new, still costs $719. Therefore, for someone to get an upgrade discount on a brand new Handycam, they are required to bend over while Sony reams them gently with a traffic cone. Thanks, fellas!
