The product does not do too badly in the looks department either, with brushed aluminum cases in gray, silver, blue or red. A SATA interface offers transfer rates of a reportedly optimistic 480Mbits/s.

The form factor is the smaller 2.5" standard. The HDD comes bundled with Transcend's Point to Point software, which promises speeds of up to 1.5Gb/s, as well as the OneTouch program; a complete auto-backup solution. Powered via USB, the 160GB StoreJet is USB 2.0 compliant. Release dates and pricing information are not available as yet. [Mobilewhack]

<![CDATA[Rock Out All Day (and Night) with Transcend's T.sonic 840 DAP]]> In a world of complex do-it-all gadgets, the T.sonic 840 might seem a little bland. It's a fairly basic digital audio player, supporting everything you'd expect in the audio (MP3, WMA, WAV, WMA-DRM10) and visual (JPG, BMP) departments. But it is the simple yet functional approach that allows Transcend's latest gadget to pump out tunes for thirty hours on single charge. The 1.8" color TFT-LCD displays everything including the karaoke lyrics scroller and will even do text, if you're into reading on tiny screens. It will even help you in your Spanish classes. ¿Qué?

The 13-language display will test your knowledge of worldly communication techniques, but the built-in digital voice recorder pairs with a unique variable-speed A-to-B playback function to help you learn from dictated lectures or notes. As you listen to your recorded file, you can adjust the speed on a whim and repeat a given section with the push of a single button. The U.S. store doesn't have them in stock just yet (they should be available any day now), but the 2GB white version is billed at $125 across the pond with the 4GB black a tad higher at $167. <![CDATA[Transcend JetFlash V90 Stores and Sparkles]]>
Transcend just announced a shiny new addition to its JetFlash USB lineup in the form of the V90. Available in sizes up to 2GB, the drives start at $27.99 and come in either a mother-of-pearl finish or a fiberglass weave over metal. With the included long chain, the drive can be worn as a necklace and should be a nice workaday alternative to that that Swarovski crystal HeartBeat locket you're eying—right, princess?

<![CDATA[Transcend 16GB Express Card: Fabulousness Comes at a Price]]> Transcend has a new 16GB Solid State Drive in Express Card form. It will do wonders for boosting your notebook's hard drive capacity on the road while wreaking havoc in your credit card at the same time: There's no official US price yet, but it is $1,337 in Europe, which actually is not that 1337.

Surprising, specially when you compare it to the $600 32 GB SanDisk SSD, which offers double the size for half the price, even if you have to install it. However, the Trascend 16GB will be good for the extra space that pro digital photographers need while traveling light, as well as having a quick way to back up for everyone else.

<![CDATA[Transcend JetFlash T2K USB Drive is Nearly Weightless]]> If you grow weary of those cumbersome USB flash drives you've been lugging around (most weigh about 10g), here's one that sheds nearly all of its weight. The Transcend JetFlash T2K weighs just 2 grams, and is available in your choice of capacities from 1GB ($15.90) to 4GB ($48.30).

Judging from the size of microSD cards the size of a baby's fingernail, we knew this was coming. The T2K isn't so small you would lose it in your pocket, but it's not big, either—it's just 1.6 inches tall and a mere 3mm thick. Can they get smaller than this? Probably.

<![CDATA[Transcend JetFlash 180 - Stores Data, Plays in Mud]]> We are always looking to spend a little too much on a flash drive, and Transcend's new JetFlash 180 might be just the ticket.

We've drooled on their products before, but their new offering is clad in stainless steel, the official steel of motorcycle gangs and housewives. Coming in 1, 4, and 8GB varieties, the 180s also feature PC locking, data encryption, data syncing and a slew of other software-based features. As for the durability, we're not sure if its quite this durable. The read/write speeds won't blow your mind, but such is the cost of not just carrying a Zippo. Price not yet announced.

<![CDATA[Transcend T.sonic 530 MP3 Player]]> The swirly design of the Transcend T.Sonic MP3 player reminds us of butterscotch candies crossed with an Altoids tin. The player is available in 512MB and 1G, and has MP3/WMA/WAV support. There's an FM radio and 15 hours of playback time, which is decent but not great for a flash based player.

You can use the player as a secure flash drive for your documents with the included software to password-protect parts of memory.

The 530 is available now, but we don't have any price info.

<![CDATA[Transcend 1GB 80X miniSD card]]> transcend_80x.jpg

Now that we've got more data coming in and out of cellphones and handheld devices, it only makes sense that we'd see a high-speed 1GB mini SD card one of these days. To make this a reality, Transcend has announced a 1GB 80X Ultra Performance miniSD card that supports transfer data speeds of up to 12MB/sec and uses a single level architecture to make it 70% quicker than your everyday miniSD card. We have found one website that claims a 4GB version but Transcend's website says nothing about this, so take it with a grain of salt. However, there is a 512MB version available.
