    Unfortunately, if the video game is canon, this ability is bestowed by a voice in his head, not the doc (Pope Joe just fixed his arm). It's apparently part of his Furyan abilities. I like the "shine job" explanation better. #transitioncontacts

    Yeah, but photochromatic lenses don't work perfectly. For instance, I need sunglasses mostly while driving, but my car's windshield blocks UV rays, so they don't change in the car. Also, they never really changed all the way back, leaving me looking a bit like a 70's porn star. Needless to say, I don't wear photochromatic lenses anymore. #transitioncontacts

    @Bigbadbikernerd: I thought that, too, until I saw myself in photographs. I would say that they had a very very very slight tint to them. Still, I looked like a sleaze, so my eye doctor re-made them without the transitions stuff. I haven't been able to wear sunglasses for like 2 years. My next trip, I'm going to just bit the bullet and get a pair of prescription sunglasses along with my regular glasses. #transitioncontacts

    It's great that darken quickly, but it's even more important that they _lighten_ quickly. What happens if I drive from bright sunlight into a tunnel? With sunglasses, I can remove them quickly. With contacts, I can't...

    @FigNinja: Nike used to make colored contacts specailized for the sport you are playing. They have been discontinued though. You don't want to dim *all* light when you are playing a sport. You want to filter out colors.

    Example: For golf nike had grey-green contacts. Green light was filtered out so you could pick up the white golf ball better. #transitioncontacts

    Once they "isolate the photochromic material to just corneal region of your eye", they can start working on colored dyes to turn your iris's into spinners. #transitioncontacts
