In a receny survey of young German women, sponsered by the governement to see why they didnt want to marry, the #1 objection to marriage by young women is they dont want to have to clean up after a man.

I'm not denying that more women are putting off marriage, especially in industrialized countries, but that survey you're citing is irrelevant. If it were asking women why they weren't married, and responses came back saying they simply wouldn't want to, then that would be support for your argument.

In Japan, the reason so many women are going past their "expiration date" (at something like 25 years of age, an unmarried woman is considered to be past her marrying prime) without stepping to the alter is that they don't want to give up their lives. Once married, a woman in Japan is expected by pretty much everyone to give up her job/career (yes, you could be top dog at a major company, and you'd be expected to give it up to live on some middle-management salaryman's paycheck), stay at home, and raise the kids. Only staying at home typically involves having to do the grocery shopping two or more times a week, doing laundry almost every day (washing machines are tiny, older ones require you to hand transfer laundry from the "washing" portion to the "spin dry" portion, and dryers are priced to heartily discourage ownership), and dealing with the fact that boy-children are taught at an early age that men outrank women...which pretty much means that mothers raise their girls but only clean up after their boys. Yeah, and the natural result of that last bit is that boys grow up to be men who expect women to clean up after them, to the point that if their school teacher is a woman, they fully expect her to retrieve their dropped pencils (and most female teachers comply).
Basically, this bra is just a sign of a bigger problem, which is that Japan has one seriously effed up culture when it comes to the whole gender issue.
