@SuprXY: It was there in the previous review as well, but it said Leica under the viewfinder and also mentioned it in review. This is missing in both counts here.
I like the idea of a rugged camera, and this one seems very nice indeed. I like the fact that it has almost a 5x zoom that is internal, and the full HD video is good too, assuming that it can zoom while filming. I'm a bit spoiled by the 10x zoom I have on my current Lumix though, and $400 is a bit spendy these days.
Wow... definitely buying this later down the road... Beats the hell outta my 0.3 megapixel phone camera... yes, you read correctly, 0.3 megapixel. Zero point three megapixel.
@hefavitzen: your first comment was good until you called first. We don't do that here. Please don't do it again. Also you might want to check out the recent guide to commenting on Gizmodo to avoid future faux pas.
@hefavitzen: So you know you left the first comment, then felt compelled to leave a SECOND comment declaring "firsties"? A comment which could NEVER be first, b/c there already was a first comment.
You sir, are a moron. I only hope you have enough brain cells to use the final bullet on yourself when you realize the Grimace is coming to stick each of your fingers into a 9 amp variable speed drill with a 3/4" chuck, then tightening said chuck, before running the drill at full speed. B/c once he does that, you are at his mercy. And before you think of using the bullet on the Grimace, remember that Nothing Can Kill The Grimace.
@hefavitzen: you make an excellent point, though the blue one makes a lot less sense for a waterproof camera. Drop that thing in the water (I've done that) and you'll never see it again. That's why I want all my rugged cameras in orange from now on.

wouldn't spend 2g on a Mac. I would rather get the PC for $1200. I'm just saying that the price isn't outrageously high.

Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true when the post said "diving", but sadly the mfr. spec is as you say:
Water Proof 3.0m ( IEC60529 IPX8 compliant )
That's snorkeling. And crap snorkeling at that.

I think the little L in the lower right corner is a leica logo. If not, I'll be pissed because I already pre-ordered one of these.

Hence the charcoal option, which I would go for as well for general use.
@McNugget911_GitEmSteveDave:
Agreed, I'd want an even brighter orange or a yellow for diving, etc.

A wiseman once told me... All cellphone companies want to do is f**k you up the a**, so you're better off finding the one with the smallest dick.
Sorry for cussin', but that's one of the most true thing I've heard.

Having been in IT forever, I'm still a bit dense when it comes to the graphics stuff.
