    I hate to say it, but I don't think that was a metal bat. The sound it made when hitting was more of a "thwack", instead of a "ping". And chance it's a kids whiffle ball bat?


    It is good to know that the Aussie's know about the "Brody Adjustment".

    @grendyll: It would make a "ping" noise, and the TV would have made the crunching noise. I will say I am by no means a bat expert, but being from NJ, I've seen a lot of bats smack a lot of things. Even when you hit a knee with a metal bat, it "pings". But your best bet for knee capping is a nice Little League aluminum bat, but if you need to work over a torso, I would suggest good ol' wood, as it reflects some of the impact back onto the target. Or so I've heard.

    @PorkchopSandwiches!_GitEmSteveDave: Yes, definitely a whiffle (or Nerf) bat. Also, I believe the technical term for this is "percussive maintenance". I use it all the time, but not on new electronics, typically it has the best (and most predictable) results on old analogue devices...
