    Amazon has Shure E110s for $50.00. They also qualify for Amazon's free "super saver" shipping if you're a cheapskate like me. I just ordered a pair.

    Just curious, what did you use as your audio source for this test? Do you need to have something really nice to notice the difference or does your average iPod allow these earbuds to shine?

    I really prefer head phones above these earbuds. I also need a pair of headphones that allow you to swap cables because I always end up breaking them. could anyone push me into a dirrection whats the best sub 100$ pair of headphones with swable cable?

    Sennheiser PX100s go for about $40.00 and they sound fabulous. The do not have swapable cables, though. OTOH for $40.00 just buy a new set when you need 'em. They're cheap enough.

    For extended periods of listening, I can't do earbuds at all, and I even have trouble with most headphones. Earbuds place the sound plane in a straight line between your ears, and therefore directly inside your head and behind your eyes, rather than at a natural position somewhere in front of you. The strain it creates for me is like trying to see something that is up way too close and you end up crossing your eyes, except in this case you are doing it with your years.


    Earbuds create the aural equivalent of the Opti-Grab, and we all know how well that design worked out.

    I refuse to pay more than $100 for earbuds. I have pair of skull candy in-ear buds with an iphone button/mic.. great lows and mids, 8 spare silicone tips and a little fabric baggy that I currently don't use for the headset, but other organic means..

    @robot-shmobot: Really? Because I refuse to pay more than $10 for earbuds. Sorry, but if I want some awesome stereo sound with my iPod, I'll just hook it up to my surround sound system. For working out and mowing the yard, the $8 wrap-around buds I have work just fine. This is absolutely ridiculous. How rich/stupid do you have to be to spend $230 on earbuds?

    @robot-shmobot: I used to refuse to pay even close to $100 for earbuds, but then I bought a pair of Shure e2c's for $80, then moved on to the $150 pair of SE210's, and I couldn't be happier with the way they sound.
