It seems the stereo imaging would be smeared with the mid-range coming from drivers 7 feet to the side of the treble, but I guess with a room big enough for 18 feet of speaker for each channel (!!!) you might not notice. And those look like computer renderings, obviously the surroundings are faked.
This makes Magneplanar dipole radiators (with an even better ribbon tweeter) look like the greatest deal of all time, just 0.2% of the price.
Wowser, $2,000,000 IS a lot for speakers, an awful lot at that. But judging ANY pair of speakers without hearing them is just plain wrong. Look, the full dCS (www.dcsltd.co.uk) stack costs $80,000 for a two channel CD/SACD player. Is it worth it? I think so, but then I've heard the dCS stack. It's too rich for my blood but I'm glad I've heard it and frankly if I could afford it I would buy it in a heartbeat. I would not buy a pair of speakers at this price point (I can't afford it) and they may not be worth the asking price. Until and unless I was able to hear them I'm not in any position to judge them. And neither are the rest of you commenting.
@nexusmerk: Sorry, but there isn't anything you mentioned that is WORTH the asking price. Some might be able to afford it, some might even convince themselves its necessary, but unless its being used for research into curing cancer/aids/stupidity, then its a waste of money.

@zenpoet: being worth the money is the buyers choice/decision, not yours or mine. As to a $2,000,000 pr of speakers, well I too find it hard to believe they could be THAT good to justify that price tag (but again, I have never heard them and I bet you have not either). But I sure stand by what I said about the dCS stack, if I could afford it I would buy it. No offense, but what makes you think I give a rats ass if you think it's not worth it. It is not your money I'm talking about.
@nexusmerk: While I agree that "worth" is a relative term, I was not stating a fact, just disagreeing with your opinion. I didn't ask you to change it.
As far as what you think a speaker set is worth, I would be willing to bet that my contention that no speakers are "worth" $80,000 unless they are serving a purpose other than listening to music or fulfilling some rich guys fantasy, is more easily and accurately justified than "hey, Lady Gaga sounds really sweet out of these things!"
