    All our TV shows lose a day when they travel to Asia, but they gain a day on the way back over so no biggie.

    Um, they're not allowing time-shifting at whim because each server is probably re-broadcasted throughout the base one channel at a time. So that's one video stream across the base for multiple viewers who don't want to fight about rewatching or skipping something... c'mon. Think a little more.

    Eh, so this is a complaint about the military doing something its own way, which is pretty much what they've always been doing. May not be the "best" way, but it provides a social occasion where people can gather at a common time to watch a show.

    @Lite: And that time together is how the military builds unit cohesion. You eat, drink, sleep, sh*t with your buddies 24/7. So that when they're not around, you feel out of place and detached.
