November for the HTC Hero? Hmm, that's a little too long for me. My contract with Alltel, I think I've been switched to Verizon now, is up October 27th. Too bad, if it had been out sooner, maybe they'd get us to stay on. But, alas, Sprint's calling.
Plus, as far as I know, Sprint isn't full of lying bastards who nickel and dime you at EVERY turn and try to punish you for not being an equal asshole to them.
@Anonymoose: One time I brought my phone along to dinner with my girlfriend's parents. It kept chewing with its mouth wide open. When I asked it to stop, it spit meatloaf down my girlfriend's mother's blouse.
@OCEntertainment: forealzies? sorry to hear about that dude. so, uhh...does that mean your phone is fair game? i'm not saying i would do anything with it, but...you know
@OCEntertainment: That is impressive! My phone used to be a pretty standard, well-mannered device.... until it found the reefer.
Now it just spends it's days idling around, not responding to any of my simple queries and just laying on the couch, spilling cheetos crumbs all over the cushions.
Gosh, I hope it's not the Click. Click is a perfect sounding name for a budget smartphone. Desire is a fitting name for a fancy-pantsy, supar-awexome, phone-and-a-half!
I do look forward to seeing what this is. *please be a 4G-enabled, qwerty-slider, with a UI untouched by Verizon....but maybe by HTC.....pleeeasse*
I don't see how this is an obvious statement. I would think that the two companies' ability to come to agreement on the terms would be deciding factor, not type of radio in the phone. It sounds like he's denying the whole Verizon Turned Down Apple rumor.
Uhm, Apple gave Verizon first dibs on the iPhone at release. Verizon said no. What else is there to say about it other than they shot themselves in the foot.
"We said no. We have nothing bad to say about the Apple iPhone. We just couldn't reach a deal that was mutually beneficial."
What do you mean, "That's not true?"
@jcrockerman: The stick point was never whether or not the phone was GSM or CDMA based, it was over Verizon feeling they wouldn't get enough money out of the deal.
@Six Demon Bag: Lite: Well my post above sums it up, but the more recent quote is Seidenberg saying that a CDMA iPhone was never seriously considered.
Maybe "not true" isn't the best way to put it. The reality is that there are a lot of factors that were never public. There was just the initial report that VZW "passed" on the iPhone. As more came out it looked more like a negotiation that was never meant to go through in the first place.
@tande04: Actually, you don't know if that was the case or not. For all we know that's the CEO's latest excuse for why they didn't pick up the iPhone and cash in on what has become a growth point in the smartphone market.
@Software_Goddess: After 13 years of Verizon's inability to carry a phone that isn't either A) An utter piece of shit or B) So crippled and handicapped by Verizon that it is now a piece of shit, I changed. Their network coverage is great, their customer service has been great, their phones just suck and I grew tired of waiting.
@Six Demon Bag: Lite: Yes VZW is a master at the waiting game. I've often wondered how many leaks they're behind just so that they can keep people around a bit longer.
I'm giving them three more chances (which is what I've been saying forever). The storm2, the whitestone, and of all things the glyde 2.
@tande04: I dumped them. I have an iPhone. My coverage so far is fine, I haven't dropped any calls, my phone bill is actually about the same, and I have a phone that I actually enjoy using that doubles as an iPod, portable PC, and GPS unit (that I don't pay an extra monthly fee for just to see where the hell I am at...)

We gonna see ads for this thing with "Sweet Home Alabama" playing? (I know, that's 'Shoals')

Seems Verizon is thinking the name might be the Tao or the Droid. Much better.

From behind. It was actually a pretty good shot.
We broke up.

Verizon and At&T are in business to make a profit. Verizon is doing just that, At&T.....not so much.

It has brought them millions of new subscribers.
