    Just as an interesting aside, the same thing could happen with film cameras that have focal plane shutters. The shutter moves a slit across (and in some cameras, vertically) the film.

    There's a famous photo of an old race car taken by a French photographer (I can't remember his name), and the car, especially the wheels, appear to be slanted forward. The shutter was a upward-traveling one, so the early part of the exposure was at the bottom of the frame, as as the latter part of the exposure was made, the car had moved forward.

    It is the biggest issue by far of the HD video DSLR cameras. That then recording format/bitrate, then live HD output for monitoring.

    @thedarkhorse: Except for the GH1 which has somewhat crummy codec implementation and a lack of live output (at least after hitting record) but also has the least rolling shutter jello of any vDSLR and even less than most CMOS camcorders, even on shots with lots of fast, lateral movement.

    It's really not at all there or noticeable with that camera. In fact the only time I've ever really seen it was when doing motion-stabilization in post production, wherein the motion of the shots is removed, and we're left looking at a static shot...then, (and even then only sometimes), do you see rolling shutter with the GH1.

    @Michai: The very front part sounds like part of a Jurrasic5 album (setup is the name of the track). Which would be DJ Babu, wouldn't it? Although I know they work with Cut Chemist and Shadow a lot. If it isn't Babu, it sounds like Chemist.
    Then we have some Queens of the Stone Age.
    Then more from the same Jurrassic5 album.

    @szrimaging: Whoops. Think I had this wrong. Cut Chemist was with Jurrassic until the last album. So I am voting Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-mark. And it was Nu-mark, not Babu who was the other dj for them.

    This'll be awesome for skaters and bikers doing "sponsor me" vids. Animal Planet will probably stick a setup on a Tiger's head for a POV kill or something... crazy possibilities. Of course, youtube is gonna get overrun with a bunch of 3D blogs that'll make you want to tear your eyes out.

    But I'd like to know resolution and if it's possible to attach some sort of monitor so you can use it as a regular cam.
    Also, external mic (prolly not).
    The lack of technical info on the website is kinda distubing.

    Doesn't look bad... specially for that price.
    I wonder how bad it is to hold a Blackberry shaped camcorder to make those movies.

    @citizen024: Does the fact that the kid who had the case settled admit that he was lying, and the other case being thrown out of court effect your joke any?


    You'd be more appropriate saying Mel Gibson and the Pope have something in common other than their love of cameras.
