    I wonder if this be available for their Wrap 920AV model, which attempts to solve the centuries-old problem: is it possible to wear video glasses and not look like a tool?

    Although it'd be kind of awesome to wear these while on a Segue and just randomly ride around since you wouldn't be able to see where you were going. Segue+Video Glasses = Big Win!

    @ScottRose:

    I have 1024x768 prototype glasses made by silliscape (later changed to inviso) that were made in 2000. 9 years ago. they were going to sell them for $200 and make about a 30% margin. then the investors tucked tail and poof, that tech was lost.

    they won an award at CES 2001.

    If you wear them on the SUBWAY, you deserve what you get. Who in their right mind blinds themselves with fancy gizmos on the train? At least you can casually observe your surroundings while watching a video on its native display.

    Caution: Use only for private quarters/seating.

    Ah, the convenience of watching Reading Rainbow without everyone knowing I'm watching my own show. I approve.

    I would gladly pay more money for more resolution. (I think they have higher res. models, but I covet 1024x768 at least).

    And I HATE how they don't disclose the res. in the specs on that page. Most of the glasses-monitor mfrs. bury the resolution, because it's such the suckage.

    @ScottRose:

    i bet these are most likely VGA (640 x 480) or 800 x 600 at best.

    Hah, 320x240. Isn't that the same as the iPod screen to begin with?

    Am I the only one here who is reminded of Snow Crash?

    Also, I want them, now.

    These reminded me of the "X-Ray" sunglasses that used to be advertised in the back of comic books. They claimed you could see through clothes with them, and every boy in 4th grade was saving his pennies for them.

    @Curves: I was in sixth grade and my brother and I bought them.

    From that puchase on, we both learned to never order anything from the back of a comic book.

    @Curves: That was my best friend's purchase. I think the Monkeys were actually brine shrimp. And they did NOT wear little golden crowns like the picture in the comic book.

    The other ad I remember was the cartoon of the skinny guy getting sand kicked in his face by a muscular dude, right in front of a pretty girl, and in the next frame the skinny dude is now built like Hulk Hogan and walking away with the pretty girl. I think it was a Jack Lalane ad. And no, the X-ray glasses did not work on the pretty girl cartoon, either. They did give me a headache, though.

    @Sora57: No Sea Monkee crowns? I guess the Dad didnt actually have Poseidons trident either? (Youre ruining the innocence and wonder of chldhood for me.)

    I remember Jack LaLane; my mom used to do jumping jacks with him. What was that one piece "bodysuit" thing he used to wear? That was scary in an epically polyester sort of way.

    This will be a hit among those TV-addicted British 2-year-olds who can't recite nursery rhymes or remember their own names.
