    Why wouldn't I just buy the $100 HDTV adapter that comes w/ an adapter for recording that feature, plus a remote, and it will record HDTV/Analog Spanish stations?

    However much this product already exists in previous products, you gotta admit, that's a very slinky picture. It's as if the photographer captured the Elgato Video Capture device sprawled out after one too many drinks, waiting for action.

    Does it have to record? Can I just watch if I want?

    (Thinking of connecting up my PS2 or X360 to this thing and using my MBP as a display for it).

    @JeremyFelt: Capture devices normally have a lag anywhere between 1 second to 7 seconds, so playing games is not normally recommended unless you are masochistic like that

    @victorkruger: @mykalt45:

    You're right, however that lag is usually greatly reduced in higher-end models. But for a cheap one like this, there will probably be lag, yes.

    @Xeno wishes there was a preview button: Actually, they've been around for a while. They're just not very high profile.

    @Xeno wishes there was a preview button: They have, but usually the analog interface is an extra feature in more elaborate TV tuner cards. ElGato and Pinnacle I believe are the only two manufacturers making them for macs though.

    @kahri:

    Pinnacle is horrible for Macs. However I did recently order an external video capture device:

    [store.apple.com]

    And while it may be a little pricy, it is more than worth it. The problem with devices like the one in the article is that while they are cheap, the video and audio can sometimes not be synched properly. Which is kind of a big problem.
