Cygnus secretary: "Boss, there's an entire legal team on the line from Google. They've offered to not blackball our corporate website from their search engine if we drop them from our lawsuit."

Surely there's someone out there who has a patent on snapping up patents and suing other companies for infringement.

...who can then, of course, go after companies/people such as Cygnus. Sort of a meta frivolous lawsuit thing.

@FredicvsMaximvs: unless someone has patented making comments about patents on snapping up patents, in which case I raise you one meta level and suggest you consult a good attorney.

Please forgive me for saything this, but a few months ago, Gizmodo ran a story about some company that was giving away free USB drives to anyone. Does anyone remember that? After signing up, they displayed a message saying it will arrive shortly, with no indication of the size capacity of the drive. I was wondering if anyone has received their drive yet because I haven't heard "squat" from them. Hey Giz, can you run a follow-up story and see if anyone has received anything????

@SBM_from_LA: Actually, the site said you MAY receive them. IIRC, they have advertising partners. The advertisers decide they want to market to a certain demographic, so they get drives printed with their name, and this company sends drives to the people on their list who match the demo. If you don't match one of their demo's, you don't get one.

@SBM_from_LA: Don't hold your breath... I'm still waiting for Gizmodo to review the BeamZ laser synthesizer like they promised.
