@Wess: That's the problem with blogs, it is so easy to create a false rumor, and there is so little actual fact checking going on... and in times when there is nothing much exciting happening, page hits are needed to get the publicity money.
OK, just hold your fucking horses. Yes I'm an Apple fanboy. Yes, I understand they could be big arrogant prick motherfuckers now and again.
However, you say in your article that pretty much nobody knows what happened, or, for that matter, what was SUPPOSED to happen that did not happen, and yet, for some reason, it is clearly "merely the latest (and one of the most glaring) examples of Apple's completely backwards app approval process."
@Dearhaw: Reading comprehension is a powerful thing.
That is exactly the point they are making no one knows anything about what happened. As I understand it, it was supposed to be launched on Friday, no approval was issued and they are unable to get any answer from Apple as to what the hold up is.
Beyond that, for people to act like Google is just any other developer is ridiculous. It's fucking Google. They really should go to the front of the line.
The idea of a "line" further complicates the issue, as this story and other commenters have illustrated; there appears to be no order or explanation as to when/why things do and do not get approved.
Also, this application just looks awesome. Just the prospect of it is pulling me back into the fold after being far from overjoyed with my overall iPhone/apple experience.
@OMG! Ponies!: Aint nobody suing nobody...all this fuss is over the status of the app being "in review" mode? Thats it? It wasnt like Apple denied the app or something

Arrington's confusing the policy that killed Podcaster with logistics surrounding a major new app that will be massively downloaded.
Arrington and his source are out of the loop and have no idea what's going on.

this whining about the app store policy is getting really annoying.

This isn't some homebrew app; this is Google trying to get a foothold in the cellphone market.

We've (Odasoft.net) submited 2 apps,
one of them was approved the same day we submitted it! It's called Truco.
The other App, is steal "in review" by apple after 2 months!
So Apple process is incredible ridiculous...

And remember kids: when giant, multibillion dollar global brands sue each other, everybody wins.

Saying it's "In Review" sounds a little suspicious to me. If it isn't approved, expect an epic lawsuit.
