This is the first new case I've seen in a long time that I actually like. Far too many PC cases are just gimmicks covered in cheap plastic and flashing lights.

question for the giz-hobos: why do all PC cases look like ass? Can some one (cough-editors-cough) run an article about NICE (and not fucking steam-punk or lame home-brew) cases? I think there are lots of folks that are hunting for something small and unobtrusive. Help?

@nat lyon: if they would sell just the case, I would buy one. That and the Dell Studio Hybrid are the only ones that look appealing. I've thought about crafting my own- but just don't want it to look like something that would end up on LifeWhacker.

@nat lyon: The higher end Silverstone cases are nice and simple. Lian - Li makes some nice looking ones too, especially if you stealth the optical drives.

For all its impraticalities, I really ... need this. I wish more design houses (Porsche, Starck etc...) would do enthusiast computer cases not because its practical, but because I need both design and function in everything I do.

I think the title is misleading though because I skimmed it and thought it was a supercomputer. Maybe BMW Level 10 Enthusiast PC case Is Art Deco Cray Supercomputer. Or hell, just Thermaltake-BMW Case .... would be more descriptive.

@Ypoknons: Agreed. Absolutely lovely, though highly impractical. Dust would certainly be an issue, but I could have the made take a can of air duster to it every other day.

If I had a maid. Or a can of air duster.

Since when did Daft Punk start designing computer cases after stage elements from their shows?

If it was designed by Daft Punk it would have to be inserted into your brain not a chopped off desktop. And It would be delivered to your house by 2 dancing mummies.

Seems a Porsche-designed one would look nicer.

Oh Bangle, you sure know how to rape BMW.

Seriously, though, I thought he left BMW.

    My first though exactly.
Fans running 100% of the time, electrical fields, plastic and lot's of static.
PC's are dust magnets already. The less surface area, the better.
Ideally a sphere without any vent holes.
The last thing anyone needs is 1000's of nooks and crannies of shiny black even if it looks nice....

I wonder how well ventilated it is. I only see the one row of holes and they're covered up by those six rows.

@MikeZuniga: Definitely a concern. That red TCS logo seems to have some flow too if you look at the INQ pics. Of course being compartmentalized the airflow should be increased, right? The other drawback is that there seems to be 3 5.25" slots max.
