"How big of a nerd would you be to use a wearable computer in 2009? In 2030 it's super normal. But in 2009, man."

How big of a nerd, Jason? This big of a nerd. (It's really tough to tell, but I'm pointing at myself right now. OK, technically I'm not, since I use two hands to type. But mentally, oh man, mentally I'm totally pointing at myself with double thumbs.)

Glacier Computer's W200 is a Pip-Boy 3000, or Leela's arm computer, or any of these wrist-worn magical devices—and it exists now. Featuring a 3.5-inch touchscreen, backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi and GPS, the Windows CE or Linux device isn't just a weak portable computer; the inclusion of an electronic compass and energy saving tilt/motion sensor make it ideal for the wilderness explorer who needs to collect some data on the trail (or just the guy who's too lazy to physically open a netbook).

Sure, your smartphone may be smaller and/or more powerful. But the W200 has so much geek cred that you literally will not need to watch another sci fi movie or read another comic book for the next decade. If it only included 3G, I'd be sold. (Pricing and availability are unknown.) [Glacier Computer]

<![CDATA[Sony Ericsson's Swag Box Arrives at Giz HQ [Cellphones]]]> IMG_1321.jpgSony Ericsson sent over a test bed of phones that can be imported or bought from sonystyle.com. Some of the phones are familiar from shows like CTIA this spring, but we could stare at these beauties all day so I don't mind recapping the contents and taking fresh shots.
•The ultra slim W880 Walkman Phone
•The W580 mid-range Walkman slider with flashing lights on its side.
•The entry level W200a, with a screen that is less than fantastic.
•The one piece speaker, the mps-75 and the two-piece mps-70.
These are some of the most gorgeous phones in the industry. Lap up the shots.

<![CDATA[Sony's PMA Leaks Reveal the Mysterious G1 and Nine Cybershot Offspring (Updated) [Digital Cameras]]]> DSCH2.JPGDennis at Let's Go Digital plundered the web to find 10 unknown Cybershot model numbers over at Sony Style Canada. There isn't much info to go by, but judging by the family names, we can easily speculate on some. But among the familiars, there's the G1, a whole new genus of Cybershot. That's all we know so far about that one, but we can easily speculate on the cameras with more familiar model number prefixes. The likely bottom line is minor upgrades all around, but if you must get the breakdown model by model, read on for our speculative thoughts.

Since the W series has always been a mid sized point and shoot, the W60, W80, W85, and W90 are likely the same. There's no basis for this guess, but I'll risk saying the W60 and W80 are in the 8MP range, while the W85 and W90 are in the 9MP area. Likely, they'll all be very similiar, with differences in LCD screens. W200? That could be an ultra cam in the midsize point and shoot W series.

The T series gets a T100 and T20, likely to update the T50 and the T10.

H7 and H9 are likely followups to the H5, a full sized point and shoot, that could be mistaken for an SLR at glance. (You know, for DSLR lovers who are still in the point and shoot closet.)

More at PMA, but our guesses are the typical bumps in MP, LCD size, upgrades to ISO sensitivity and on higher end models, anti shake functions. Pretty boring!

Except that Mysterious G1. We can't wait to find out more.
