Keep telling yourself that. :)

If you don't like to wear your jeans loose enough to fall down every time you take a step, they do shrink a bit over time. It may sound stupid, but if you buy brand-new jeans of the same brand, line, and size, they will usually fit considerably looser than a pair you've had for a while.
Me, I got something wierder going on. The last two times I bought jeans, I bought the same brand/line/size (I have since double-checked the tags just to be sure), but one batch has a noticably smaller waist than the other set (which can be verified by holding one pair flat against the other, resulting in about 1/2" difference in width, or a full inch in total waist size). The larger pairs are just a bit too loose to wear without a belt, and the smaller ones are just snug enough that I almost don't need one. I'm left wondering if I didn't get a batch of jeans that were accidentally mislabeled. The only other explanation I can think of is that I think I ordered them in different colors (where I live, I can only reliably find jeans that are several inches too short or too fat on store shelves), and the stonewash option might produce a different fit than whatever the other color was.

Let me guess. Was one of those colors purple?

No, actually, Levi's aren't available in purple. Not in the US, at least. I think the colors were stonewashed and light indigo, but I can't remember which is which (one is just a touch darker than the other)
@lpranal:
This is all between same brand, same line, same stated size, and the slightly darker jeans fit noticably looser than the slightly lighter ones.

In order to get the length, I think I'd have to be at least a 40 waist (not even close). In order to get the waist, I'd have to have no longer than a 34 leg (or be super tall so I could pretend they were shorts). Apparently all the tall people in the area are really fat, but the short people aren't so much.
